Livni: Obama's peace plan clearly in Israel's interest
Opposition leader Tzipi Livni said US President Barack Obama's peace plan laid out in his Thursday Middle East speech was clearly in Israel's interests, while the diplomatic stalemate that she believes was brought on by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is not.

"On his visit, Netanyahu must display the leadership necessary now to create the conditions necessary to restart negotiations with those who are ready to end the conflict," Livni said. "Only a real Israeli initiative with content that can receive American and international support can be an answer to the current dangers and opportunities."

1. Livni is not my favorite but on the face of it she's right.
I also think she's hung out in that government, and especially after being politically subverted by Olmert after Sharon died, that she's hung around there long enough to know if you have a vagina in that crowd, you don't get far with that misogynist, patriarchal bunch.

She needs to step up and pull away from this sick manifestation of Netanyahu, Lieberman, et al. and push Israel in a direction which has its best interests at heart for a change.

2. Would that direction be into the Mediterranean?
Just asking...'cause that's what Hamas has promised...and one thing we know about terrorists: they tell the truth as they see it.

3. Your belief in absurdities like that is what permits you to support atrocities against innocents.

Maybe a rabbi will put out a din rodef on Livni like they did for Rabin because she's helping the people who want to push Jews into the sea too, eh?

hiding behind them is what your favorite folk do best.

5. It doesn't matter what they say they will do
when they can't back it up.

It is like a child that threatens an adult. Cute, but also so futile. What matters is reality and the facts not hypothetical scenarios. Anyways, the IDF is more than highly skilled, well equiped, and trained to handle such hypothetical scenarios.

The Israeli government can continue down the same path, or choose another path, but the fork in the road is coming up sooner than they may have wanted. They all are adults, and I am sure they are capable of making tough decisions. We shall see how this plays out.
