Hamas Rewards Freed Terrorists
The Hamas terror organization has decided to reward the terrorists who were released as part of the deal to release Gilad Shalit.

Israel’s Channel 10 News reported on Wednesday that Hamas’ government in Gaza, headed by Ismail Haniyeh, has decided to reward each terrorist who will be freed to Gaza with a sum of $2,000

Overnight Tuesday, 11 freed terrorists arrived in Turkey. Among them is Amna Muna, the female terrorist who in January of 2001 lured 16-year-old Ophir Rachum to Ramallah, where he was shot to death by terrorists.

When Rachum arrived at the Jerusalem Central Bus Station, Muna drove him to the outskirts of Ramallah, where they were greeted by her two partners, both terrorists belonging to the Fatah organization. The two tried to get Rachum out of the car and when he refused, one of them shot him to death

1. Well thats just wonderful
$ 2000.00 to some people convicted of unspeakable murder and literally, atrocities.

Can a street name be far behind?

Maybe they should pro-rate it..... give $2000 for every jew they killed?

How about a ticker-tape parade and a new car.

4. I"m afraid i dont understand the surprise
Edited on Mon Oct-24-11 07:40 AM by pelsar
the guys and gals who were freed, are in fact the freedom fighters of hamas. Why wouldn't they celebrate their return? They represent the hamas, the ruling party and present culture of gaza (remember they were locally elected in "democratic elections..."), the methods that they have chosen to use are symbolized by these people.

what is disturbing to me, is why this is a surprise, this is who they are, you may not like it, but its nothing that they are hiding, they are very clear about it and always have been.

what else do they have to do to make it clear what values they celebrate, that they believe in? what ever happen to multiculturalism and respecting those other cultures?

8. It's a surprise to some who never hear about this from their media and sources
Edited on Wed Oct-26-11 06:39 AM by shira
Never underestimate news sources or any media which deliberately censors these stories that explain the actual context of the situation in the mideast.

There's an article from the NY Times about Netanyahu's reluctance to negotiate with the PA when he successfully negotiated with Hamas for Shalit. Nothing about the PA's refusal to negotiate during a 10 month freeze during which time Netanyahu practically begged the PA to come to the table.

The misdirection and dishonesty is deliberate.

10. Everyone likes the underdogs
The media just does not realize who the real underdogs are. They write their stories slanted on who they perceive to be the underdog, when in fact, these arab terrorist organizations are ground zero for the conflict.

11. They're creating the news, not reporting it as it is.

The prisoner swap for Shalit is a recent example.

Prisoners (described as political, not terrorists) in exchange for Shalit. As if Israel imprisoned Palestinians for their political views and these folks are innocents. Reports that these people were tortured and treated badly when the opposite is the case and Shalit looks like a holocaust survivor in comparison.

Anything to make Israel look bad.

It's deliberate.

12. Absolutely true
You never see the effete milquetoast publications like BBC or the NYT post a bone-chilling story like this sociopath http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=124x369846.

Instead, the BBC recently published the heartfelt story of the grandfather being released and will spend time with his grand daughter, never failing to mention that this grandfather was responsible for the deaths of so many people and was serving multiple life sentences.

13. Illan Pappe made it very clear...
Edited on Thu Oct-27-11 09:18 AM by shira
“Indeed the struggle is about ideology, not about facts, Who knows what facts are? We try to convince as many people as we can that our interpretation of the facts is the correct one, and we do it because of ideological reasons, not because we are truthseekers,” (Interview with Le Soir Nov 29, 1999)
http://www.camera.org/index.asp?x_context=8&x_nameinnews=122&x_article=1299

This is someone very well respected in the anti-Israel community. I doubt any of the Palestinians biggest fans here have a problem with that statement - and in fact I'm quite certain they agree with it 100%. Pappe's work, and any work similar to his, is legitimate scholarship in their opinion.

And of course, respectable media should report in the same manner. Anything factually honest and logically consistent regarding I/P is considered "rightwing" in comparison. No discussion necessary.

Pretty scary.

14. Camera is a teriffic organization
Camera does not excellent job in analyzing complex topics and showing the idealogical motivations behind both the press and terrorist organizations.

6. The Palestine of Wafa al-Biss
Edited on Wed Oct-26-11 04:35 AM by shira
Some six years after her failed suicide bombing attempt, al-Biss is now among the more than 1000 Palestinian convicts who were exchanged for kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit. She has returned to the home of the parents who had hoped her daughter would “martyr” herself by detonating her explosives among the patients and staff of the Israeli hospital where she was being treated.

Upon her return home, she was visited by a large group of children, and according to press reports she told them: “I hope you will walk the same path we took and God willing, we will see some of you as martyrs.”

The children responded with cheers and, waving Palestinian flags, they chanted: “We will give souls and blood to redeem the prisoners. We will give souls and blood for you, Palestine.”

This is the Palestine of Wafa al-Biss: a death cult where a young desperate woman who was told that her life would only have meaning if she ended it with a terrorist suicide bombing knows full well what to say when a group of children is sent to visit her – and the visiting children know already how to respond to the message that seeking bloody and violent “martyrdom” is one of the noblest goals they could chose to pursue.

Wafa al-Biss is alive because she was saved by Israeli medical treatment, and she is a Palestinian heroine and role model because she was willing to end her young life by going back to where she had been saved in order to kill anyone who happened to be there.

The Palestine of Wafa al-Biss may not be eagerly embraced by all Palestinians, but it is officially endorsed by all Palestinian factions and its death cult is everywhere: in the omni-present posters that glorify successful “martyrs” who killed themselves by killing Jews, in the public squares, facilities and streets named after “martyrs” and terrorists, in the “ethos” of Palestinian officials who pride themselves in the regular payments given to terrorists and their families, and in the official media that provide regular programs glorifying terrorism.

It is the Palestine of Wafa al-Biss whose application for full membership the UN is currently considering, and the Palestinian Authority (PA) has not at all been bashful about this, as is amply illustrated by the fact that the PA chose the mother of four convicted terrorist murderers as the head of a delegation that carried the Palestinian statehood application to the UN offices in Ramallah.

The message is clear: the Palestinians want the international community to endorse a state where terrorists who target Israeli civilians are feted as national heroes – and they want this state in order to pursue their already largely successful efforts to enlist the international community in legitimizing the view that a Palestinian killed in a defensive Israeli operation is a war crime, whereas an Israeli killed by a Palestinian terrorist is a casualty incurred due to the legitimate Palestinian “resistance” that is at the core of Palestinian national identity.
