IDF disperses violent protest at security fence near Tulkarm

Facing a violent crowd of over 100 demonstrators, the IDF used tear gas this afternoon to disperse protesters who were vandalizing the security fence and throwing rocks at security forces, a military source told The Jerusalem Post.

The protest took place at around 1:30 pm in the village of Dir El-Atzun near the West Bank town of Tulkarem. The pro-Palestinian International Solidarity Movement said soldiers fired rubber bullets at about 300 Palestinians and 60 foreign supporters who dismantled a barbed-wire barrier in front of a section of the security fence. The group said three Palestinians and eight foreigners were injured.

The army said troops had used "non-lethal means of crowd-dispersal" against a group of violent protesters attempting to vandalize the fence. A spokesman said the army was investigating reports of injuries.

The ISM openly declares on it's web site that it recognizes the Palestinian right to resist Israel via 'legitimate armed struggle.'

In June, the IDF arrested a foreign "activist" during its search for arms smuggling tunnels in the Gazan town of Rafah. Army sources said the woman was inside a house that was slated for demolition. The woman was later released and allowed to remain in the country, though she was barred from returning to Gaza.

The IDF had also discovered and arrested a member of the International Solidarity Movement who was hiding an Islamic Jihad terrorist (wanted for planning and executing several terror bomb attacks against Israeli civilians) in Jenin.

golly gee whiz...ISM involved in supporting and
enabling terrorists??

i find that soooo hard to believe.

1. One more time...

let them try that in ...oh...say sudan or iran or saudi arabia.

Then they would be real "martyrs".

3. Why are they vandals ?
If you build something on MY property, it's mine to do what I wish with it, even removing it if I so desire.

You know, it really reflects badly on Judaism as a whole when members of the Jewish faith pretend not to understand the distinction between what is THEIRs and what is someone else's. It really implies to me that the Ten Commandments are NOT what today's Judaism is all about.
