Suicide terror attack foiled in Jerusalem

Security forces yesterday foiled a suicide terror attack in Jerusalem.




A high alert was declared in the capital yesterday morning and police set up roadblocks and carried out searches at the northern and eastern entrances to the city. At the same time, IDF troops carried out operations in Ramallah.

The alert remained in place ahead of the Purim festivities slated to take place in the capital over the coming days.

Security forces fear terror groups will try to exploit the holiday to carry out attacks in the city.

It was the second planned suicide attack foiled by security forces over the past three days. Previously, an attempt to dispatch a suicide bomber to Tel Aviv was thwarted.
