Sharon says U.S. should also disarm Iran, Libya and Syria
http://www.haaretzdaily.com/hasen/pages/ShArt.jhtml?itemNo=263941

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said yesterday that Iran, Libya and Syria should be stripped of weapons of mass destruction after Iraq. "These are irresponsible states, which must be disarmed of weapons mass destruction, and a successful American move in Iraq as a model will make that easier to achieve," Sharon said to a visiting delegation of American congressmen.

Sharon told the congressmen that Israel was not involved in the war with Iraq "but the American action is of vital importance."

In a meeting with U.S. Undersecretary of State John Bolton yesterday, Sharon said that Israel was concerned about the security threat posed by Iran, and stressed that it was important to deal with Iran even while American attention was focused on Iraq/

Good to see that the orders still come from Israel... :eyes:
So, will Kerry abide by these orders just like shrub...?

1. While I support Israel
I don't appreciate them telling us what to do. Neither should the US tell Israel what to do. I think both of us should agree to be friends but also acknowledge that we disagree sometimes. I see nothing wrong with that arrangement.

2. I don't support the Israeli government....
period...
Too bad...end of story. They're looking for trouble and the US
has no further reason to back them up. They're on their own.

4. Let's start disarming the WMDs that Israel has
and while we are at it, let's do the same with our own stocks of WMDs.

3. While we're at it...
Why don't we just overthrow every government in the Middle East except Israel, pave it over, & Sharon can turn it all into parking lots for Israeli tanks.

5. Not exactly saying what he means....
Twisted though this may sound, Sharon's suggestion about using the "successful move in Iraq as a model" for follow-up actions in Iran, Libya, and Syria is an attempt to reassert or reaffirm Israel's critical importance to US interests in the Middle East.

Does Sharon really think the "Iraq model" has been a success? Does he really think the US will forcefully clean out Iran, Libya, and Syria? Doubtful.

Does Sharon think that if the US established a "presence" in one or more of these countries that its reliance on and foreign aid to Israel would be greatly diminished. Absolutely.

6. PNAC
He knows the PNAC agenda is almost identical to the Likud agenda. If Bush is elected, Syria will be invaded.

7. Do it your own damned self
We're not Sharon's water boy. He thinks Iran, Libya, and Syria are threats? He can care of them himself.

8. This isn't the first time he's said this..

He said it shortly after we invaded Iraq, and what did we hear shortly afterwards....how the WMDs were "moved" to Syria.

What a coincidence. :eyes:

Stay tuned. If all goes according to planned (BBV...wink,wink), I'm sure we will be hearing more about those mysterious and allusive WMDs shortly after Bush's crowning.

Oh, and I wouldn't be terribly surprised if something tragic "happens" on Kerry's watch that would make us go there anyway, but we all know that will be "legit" (wink, wink).
