Hamas leader rails against `US-Zionist conspiracy'
AP , DAMASCUS, SYRIA
Wednesday, Apr 21, 2004,Page 7

Arabs and Muslims must join forces to defend themselves against the US and Israel and support the Palestinians in their worsening conflict with the Jewish state, Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal said late Monday.

Mashaal, who is the political chief of the Palestinian militant organization, described America and Israel as "the leading dangers" confronting Arabs and Muslims around the world.

The Syrian-based Hamas leader made his comments to about 500 people at a rally after a condolence ceremony at the Palestinian refugee camp of Yarmouk, outside Damascus, held for Abdel Aziz Rantisi, the Hamas leader in Gaza assassinated by Israel on Saturday.

"Arabs and Muslims have to join together in order to stand against the arrogance of the Zionists and the Americans," Mashaal said, adding that "Hamas will reply to the killing of Dr. Rantisi." He did not say how.

1. Good grief, what else could he say?
We're child-murdering terrorists and we understand exactly why Israel is so upset with us?

I mean, come on. Be fair. Why would he incriminate himself?

3. Bush continues to enrage the middle east....
With his blank check to Sharon and embrace of Israeli policies. He is building more hatered and resentment in the middle east than he will be able to contain. This country must stop it's foregin aid to Israel and take a more balanced apporach towards the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.

6. Syria already is NOT at peace with Israel
And considering they allow, endorse, fund and support terrorism against Israel, they should NOT be exempt from response. In this case, they are harboring the head of a terror group that attacks Israel. That in itself is an act of war.

While I would not go to war over it, I would not hesitate to take him out given the chance.

8. So someone else can replace him?
Yassin was killed. Rantisi replaced him. Improvement?

Now Rantisi is killed. This guy replaces him. Improvement?

Please explain exactly how killing him will do any good, when it hasn't the past two times.

10. It cuts down on people wanting the top job
And perhaps encourages them to seek peace before all of their top leadership is dead.
