Lebanon Palestinians give sweets after Israel attack

"Several hundred young men poured into the streets of a Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon on Tuesday and handed out sweets to celebrate a suicide bomb attack on a Jerusalem bus that killed at least 20 people, witnesses said.

They said the men, who urged more attacks, fired into the air in an expression of joy and handed out sweets to passing cars as women watched from the sidelines in the Beddawi camp on the outskirts of the northern city of Tripoli.

''Death to America. Death to Israel,'' the protesters chanted. ''Yes to the resistance and yes to more operations.''

if I didn't believe there'd be celebrations in Tel Aviv if Arafat got a bullet to the head.

Arafat can hardly be compared to a bus full of men, women and children can he?

1. He's a thug and a terrorist.
2. They're not.

Hence, these Lebanon celebrations are outrageous, but cannot be compared to celebrations regarding the death of Arafat. Such celebrations would still be distateful, but much more understandable.

You can't equate Arafat with women and children. Of course, all this celebration proves is that there are crazy fools on both sides. There would be celebration if the Palestinians were transfered to Jordan.

commenting on events that haven't occurred. Israelis have known enough death and they don't celebrate it in others, even their enemies.

I wouldn't be outraged at all. No more than I was outraged when people celebrated the Husseins getting waxed. But if Israel blew up a camp full of kids, I would be pissed if anybody was out on the street celebrating.

but apart from being shocked when I saw the biggest fuck-you of all time happening on telly right in front of my eyes, I remember thinking that the US had finally gotten some payback for decades of fucked up foreign policy. Trying to pretend that him saying "Death to Israel" at a rally was "standard" speech, not to be taken literally.

He's in good company with this bunch of low-life. Decendents of explusion and destruction to be sure, but low-life nevertheless.

I was watching the live footage of the aftermath of the bombing, while bodies were still being pulled out of the wreckage, and I saw at least 3 different Israelis smiling and joking around.

It seems many people in that awful war have become dehumanised.

They are Israel's determined enemy, pawns that they are, and they are human. They have been raised to cherish an idea of destruction that will never satisfy them, never give them anything but despair and ashes but it is their beloved. It will never occur to them that there was another way to go. They will never have a happy ending.

And Israel is locked in their death dance with them.

But these are humans dancing and don't you EVER forget it.

Yes, they look and dance like humans. They laugh and talk and cry. But they also have the power to think and to choose. That distinguishes man from animals.

When the negative path is chosen, or the ability to chose is controlled by powers greater than the individual, the human faculty sinks to a lower level. Such humans become animalistic. It can happen, and one must guard against it. But there is no other way to describe wanton destruction on innocent people. Those who plan and participate in attacks have, IMO, become non-humans.

Israelis see death and destruction. Crying and mourning sometimes looks similar to laughing. It is bazare, but the mangled bodies and cries of children can someimes be miraculous. Look who survived and recognize how close to death they were. That is a reason to thank G-d.

My statement referred to those who celebrate murder. You recall a stereotype against all Jews. They are not the same. You know that.
