Sharon to seek cabinet approval for full disengagement plan
Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has decided to seek his cabinet's approval for the entire disengagement plan at its weekly meeting in Jerusalem on Sunday. The full text of the plan will be distributed among the ministers on Friday.

The prime minister intends to present a four-stage version of the plan, whereby each stage will need cabinet approval. The original disengagement plan, which calls for the removal of all the Jewish settlements in the Gaza Strip and three in the northern West Bank.

Israel Radio reported that the plan Sharon will put to a cabinet vote calls for demolishing or dismantling all evacuated settlement buildings.

On Thursday, Sharon pulled the draft proposal when he realized he had no majority for even the most watered-down version of his initiative.

It may then end up in a national referendum, in which case the full plan would be most appropriate.
