Arabs: Israel does not want peace
Cairo, Egypt, Nov. 27 (UPI) -- Arab League Secretary-General Amr Mousa said Saturday that while the Arabs want peace in the Middle East, Israel does not want peace.

He said Israel's rejection of Syria's offer to resume peace negotiations without preconditions "shows the Arab countries' desire for a peaceful solution (to the Arab-Israeli conflict) and Israel's rejection of this trend."

Mousa made his comment after talks with outgoing U.N. envoy to the Middle East Terje Loed-Larsen in Cairo.

The secretary-general of the 22-member Arab League said he discussed the issue with Larsen, in addition to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and efforts to restart the stalled peace talks.

4. Sure it must be...
It was actually Israel that offered to resume negotiations without preconditions, and it was actually Syria that came out with the lame 'We've seen that before' comment, proving that it's not interested in peace

7. I'd disagree
Israel wants peace ON IT'S TERMS, but then again that's exactly how Palestinians feel too - both the Islamic fundies of Hamas and "moderate" Muslims, secular Palestinains and Christians Palestinians.

EVERYBODY wants peace but they all have non negotiable terms for that

Israel will only move forward with a peace plan that gives them land that wasn't included in the pre 67 borders and refuses to allow right of return (or even compensation for refugees)

PA wants peace that INCLUDES recognition (if not residency) of refugees

Hamas takes things further and wants all of the land now called Palestine and Israel for themselves.

The sticking point is that nobody will even dicuss the "essential" issues - on both sides.

11. Is it too much to ask for something factual?
In the meantime you can provide something to back up the ridiculous and very incorrect claim that the PA wants an Israel free of Jews and that they hate Jews in other countries like Australia...
