I guess NuttyYahoo is not getting enough attention of late.Finance Minister Benjamin Netanyahu strongly criticized the disengagement plan Tuesday, saying it set a precedent for withdrawing without receiving anything in return, and advocated a formalization of Israeli control over the West Bank.
"We have the task of returning to the policies we left, the policies of asking for something in exchange for each of our concessions," he said at a Jerusalem conference arranged by the right-wing newspaper Besheva.
Netanyahu said Israel was getting the international community and the Arab world used to the idea that the Jewish state could give a great deal without compensation, even though it's not clear there exists a genuine partner for peace.
Netanyahu said it is necessary to minimize the damage likely to be done by the unilateral withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and part of the northern West Bank. He said Israel must sign agreements to ensure that it will retain sovereignty over most of the uninhabited territory in the West Bank, noting that 75 percent of the West Bank is not inhabited by Jews or Palestinians.
