Blow the House Down by Robert Baer
Edited on Tue Jan-16-07 11:11 PM by noise
Excellent book. I read Richard Clarke's foray into fiction and must say Baer's is much better. A lot more attitude and contempt for bureaucracy. :)

He intermixes fictional characters with real people like John O'Neill. Sure makes one wonder about James Pavitt since his counterpart in the book is pretty much a bad guy. Baer also suggests that certain corporate interests were in the know and profited from put options. Draws attention to outsourcing intelligence functions to private companies.

Thesis: Iran was behind 9/11. An Iranian intelligence official made a deal with Bin Laden to join forces against the US. Reminded me of Peter Lance's recent book about Ali Mohamed where he talks about Mohamed helping to form an alliance between Mugniyah's Hezbollah and Bin Laden's al Qaeda.
