What are these "puffs" of smoke?

I want you to understand something. This is a topic which fully invokes my vehement disgust at the enormity of these idiotic conspiracy theories you people are pushing around here.

What do you think is causing those "puffs" of smoke - those constant streamers of smoke? It is exactly the same thing that is causing every one of those people to climb completely out of those windows, even causing them to hurl themselves toward the ground instead of coming into contact with it any longer.

We shouldn't expect an exactly equal distribution of the smoke.

I say "most" for a reason.

There are only two options I can see.

1. The OP is too ignorant to figure out why there are "puffs" of smoke. If that is the case, Mom should give back the crayons and prevent access to the computer. Although I would guess unless the poster is an idiot savant that can type in complete sentences without understanding what they write, they know the "puffs" are from a fire in the building.

2. It's more sinister insinuations disguised as "just asking questions" stupidity. Which of course is dumb but OK, if it did not include pictures of people that were in the process of jumping to their deaths.

Since the picture was taken before the collapse they can't thermite or high explosives. Now it is possible that that besides filling the WTC with tons of explosives and thermite, the plotters also fashioned an elaborate pyrotechnic display to replicate a massive fire with lots of smoke.

Or the smoke simply spread upwards in the building like smoke likes to do.

smoke is coming from open windows and being blown horizontally by the wind.

The WTC windows didn't operate. The only open windows were the ones people smashed out, and they didn't do it in neat horizontal rows.

There is no reason to assume that there was anything "neat" about how these people managed to smash open the windows.

The wind will cause one column of smoke to seem as if it is coming out in the form of a row, and if you think the air is still that high, near the ocean, you are on opiates. lay off them

Wind blows in one direction at a time, and notice that smoke is being blown out in identical rows on perpendicular sides of the tower, which would be impossible if the rows were simply streamers blowing in the wind.

It hits the building and flows both ways around it, carrying the smoke in different direction.

The smoke coming out of identical rows on perpendicular sides simply means that hot smoke and fire is filling that floor, and windows have been opened on both sides.

Smoke is lighter than air. If you look carefully, you can see what windows the smoke is emanating from It will then proceed to both rise, and be blown by the wind. Go... take high school physics.

Wind moves around a building taking the path of least resistance. Even if they are perpendicular, it is still possible for that to occur

Is what I believe he means. That is the location I see, as well. Now, the question is, why is smoke billowing forth from there, and not behind (most) of the window spaces where the people are standing?

Look at where you can see people in the windows in relation to the thin horizontal lines between the aluminum column covers. And again, as people have already pointed out, there's probably a reason why people are hanging out the windows a hundred floors above the ground, and I doubt it's because they want to get a better look at the smoke coming out of the ceiling spaces.

A fire was burning on the lower floors. Air vents, ducts, and the differential opening and shutting of doors and elevator shafts cause the distribution we see.
