This is my first post in this forum, but I have a question I want to ask.
I recently bought a new minivan. My old one has a vanity plate that is a version of our last name +van. It's pretty cute, actually.

On my new van, I want to put a vanity plate that says LIHOP. I am firmly in the LIHOP camp at this point. My husband is afraid I am asking for trouble.

I think only educated dems will even realize what it means. What do you guys think? I'm asking in here because this is the forum that seems to have the greatest knowledge about the event and the events leading up to the tragedy.

So, what do you think? Also, I live in VA if that makes a difference.

Thanks.

1. If we are all too scared to say something, how will we
change the world?

2. Put what you want on your license plate.
It's still a free country.

10. OMG. THAT is hilarious.
Okay, so if you're in VA in the near future (figure 2-4 weeks to get the plate) and you see a middle aged white female driving a blue Town and Country (with satellite radio, yeah baby) be sure to wave!!It'll be me.

3. could be a good conversation starter
i'd opt for MIHOP myself.

...

on a sort of related note, here in ontario, the new license plates have four letters (they've started with A and i'm now seeing a few Bs) and then 3 numbers.

i've wondered if anyone out there has "ATTA 911". that would be something. (i wouldn't be surprised if they didn't issue that one).

4. I say go for it

The ability to believe anything thing you want no matter how silly is foundational to a vibrate America.

As the old song goes "Let your freak flag fly"

Almost Cut My Hair

By Crosby, Stills, Nash And Young

Almost cut my hair, it happened just the other day.
It's getting’ kinda long, I coulda said it wasn't in my way.
But I didn't and I wonder why, I feel like letting my freak flag fly,
cause I feel like I owe it to someone.

Must be because I had the flu' for Christmas and I'm not feeling up to par.
It increases my paranoia, like looking at my mirror and seeing a police car.
But I'm not giving in an inch to fear cause I missed myself this year.
I feel like I owe it to someone.

When I finally get myself together, I'm going to get down in that sunny southern weather.
And I find a place inside to laugh, separate the wheat from the chaff.
I feel like I owe it to someone.

6. Do it.
A course in self-defense may be needed, depending on how red the state is.

7. See, I'm thinking I would only get thumbs up and waves.
Or is that too optimistic?

Confession: I wear my political shirts all the time, but I don't want my new van vandalized. I know it's just a thing, but I bought it right after the November elections to celebrate turning the country blue. It's blue. My old one which is for sale if anyone is interested, is red. Have you ever heard of a dumber reason to buy a new car? If you have I'd like to hear it.

8. You will get only thumbs-up and waves
And meet like-minded people, since they will pretty much be the only ones who know what LIHOP is.

Of course, you may also meet a few professional OCTs, but they are also (physically) harmless.

I think the greatest danger will come from the most fanatic 9/11 inside jobbers, the types who have convinced themselves that LIHOP is the real enemy. But this "danger" is on the level of spittle flying off the lips of screaming idiots...

Otherwise you'll have a conversation starter. It's a great idea.

11. I thought so too.
Now my biggest decision is which 'template' plate to get. do I get the support the troops one, or the united we stand one, or the love kids one.

I'm partial to the love kids one because I want my children to grow up in a better world than what asshat has to offer.

12. Pros and cons:
Pros: helps spread the word, starts conversations, gets people to think the unthinkable.

Cons: Motor vehicle departments have access to your and your family's personal information so you are inviting trouble literally to your doorstep. This could mean nothing, or it could mean something as minor as a triple-A emergency call being ignored or as serious as what happened to Judy Wood's graduate student (he was shot twice in the head).

These people are not harmless and there are many ways of getting the message out without putting your family in harm's way.

On balance I'd say this is probably not a good idea.

13. I'd definitely do it. Excellent idea. Creative.
I'd have to go for MIHOP at this point, myself. But I love this idea!
