Imagine, if you will... Waking up on 9/11/2001 and finding out that there were four airliners

whose flight paths had changed drastically. Imagine that there was no communication from the airplanes. Imagine that NORAD scrambled oodles of fighters, F-15's, F-16's, heck, even a few F-18's just for good measure.

Now imagine that those four airplanes were shot down by American forces for nothing other than being catastrophically off course. Two shot down over Manhattan, crashing into buildings and streets, killing untold thousands. One shot down over DC, hitting the Washington Monument and toppling it before crashing into the Lincoln Monument, destroying both, and killing a large number of people. A very large number of innocent American Citizens, and who knows how many people from other countries.

What do you think we'd be saying in this forum today? How badly would be trashing whomever made such a decision, and how passionately would we be calling for that person or persons to be jailed for such monumental bad judgment?

Every time I see someone post ANYTHING about NORAD or scrambled fighters I have to wonder to myself: Is that person saying that the United States Government should have SHOT DOWN four civilian airliners for being off course and failing to answer radio calls? Is that REALLY what the truthers mean when they say things like "Nineteen Arab cavedwellers defeated NORAD with nothing more than boxcutters"?

I can't wait to see what my favorite 9/11 forum posters have to say by way of an answer.

What, are we supposed to chuck protocol and let NORAD make calls based on their gut or a coin toss? They failed us that day and 3000 *did* die! What the hell are you babbling about?

electronics equipment (cell phones, non-perp cameras etc.), and of course there were cartoon planes. Also real helicopters ("Pat", in
Choopper 5 - where at least one of the live composites was made) and probably some cartoon ones too.

Not sure how many "oodles" is but I doubt it is 20. Thats how many Air National Guard F-15s and F-16s fighters for the Continiental US. Zero USAF Fighters, because they turned the ADIZ mission over to the ANG in its entirely, and zero F-18s as they are all USN and USMC. 2001 was not 1951 and the air threat to the US ADIZ was not considered great enough to have any more than that. It still isnt.

When I say 20 that is how many ANG fighters were on alert. Armed, Fueled, avionics ready, pilots strapped into a recliner in a ready room. Everywhere else they were not. Pilots and groundcrew at home, or at training, planes in hangers, unfueled, weapons in bunkers, needing to be signed out, paperwork processed. It takes a LOT longer to "scramble" non alert aircraft...thats the whole reason to HAVE ALERT AIRCRAFT!!!

Most people have questioned why AA 77 wasn't intercepted while flying around for ***45 minutes*** following the two WTC crashes.

NORAD knew it was happening. Why do you think the Air Force person didn't want to answer any questions while this was all happening. Then after all the plane crash...Now they offer their full cooperation. A simple review of the fact will tell you this.

With their stupid better beer and health care... I knew they hated our freedoms.
