The top 15 reasons to doubt the official story of Sept. 11, 2001
http://www.911truth.org/article.php?story=20041221155307646#top

There are literally scores of substantial reasons to doubt, reject or ridicule the official 9/11 story. However, their relative importance in spurring people to disbelief still largely depends upon subjective factors like professional knowledge and personal experience. Engineers, for example, are often driven to 9/11 skepticism by the inexplicable WTC collapses, investors by the apparent insider trading and huge war profits of the aftermath, pilots by the novice hijackers' astounding aerial skill, veterans by the suddenly dysfunctional national air defense system, journalists by the stonewall secrecy and investigation phobia, civil servants by the total disinterest in accountability, libertarians by the anthrax-assisted stampede to rubberstamp the repressive "Patriot Act", etc, etc. Others are simply insulted to incredulity by the number of coincidences we are asked to believe to make the official story seem true. (See "The Coincidence Theorist's Guide to 9/11" for a brutally funny walk through that particular fairyland.)
http://rigorousintuition.blogspot.com/2004/08/coincidence-theorists-guide-to-911.html

In other words, our Top 15 reasons to doubt the official 9/11 story currently listed here are not meant to be definitive. They are simply important things for ordinary people to consider when facing the crimes of 9/11 and pondering how little we really know. Please stayed tuned as we continue to revise them based upon new revelations and your help.

7. Actually makes you question what happened on 9/11.
Not so much in NYC but in DC and Penn. What hit the pentagon and why did the flight over Penn go down? Oh wait we know why cause we shot it down and hid that fact from America. Rummy even admitted it for gods sake.

When it finally breaks if it ever breaks society will snap like a twig and Bush/Rummy and co will end up in jail almost immediately. It will hit us just as hard as 9/11 did.

21. Great Info and video! So what happened to the plane that.....
supposedly struck the Pentagon? Wasn't Barbara Olsen supposed to be on board that one?
Or did that one get chased out the ocean and shot down 160 miles from shore?
I don't know what the fuck to believe anymore, each possibility gets worse than the one before.

6. #2 - unanswered questions. So many
2) The Hundreds of Still Unanswered Questions, the Scores of Documented Lies

- For many, the most troubling aspect of 9/11 these many months after the 9/11 Commission closed up shop is how ignorant we still really are.

Although the Commission was to provide the full and final explanation of the tragedy, they never even addressed let alone answered more than 70% of the victim family questions that Commissioners initially promised would be their "road map."

Vital questions about surviving "hijackers," the bizarre WTC 7 collapse, the bin Laden/Pak/CIA relationship, the Afghan gas pipeline, known Bush/Cheney/Rice lies, which US parties, corporations and agencies profited most from 9/11, and countless more all remain unanswered to this day.

Although this ignorance abides, we have discovered many instances where our leaders flatly lied. Consider Bush insisting he saw the first WTC strike on television, Rice saying the August 6 "Bin Laden Determined to Strike in the US" presidential briefing contained only "historical info," Cheney's incessant Iraq/Al Qaeda linkage mantra or the dozens of other examples listed Here!.

This pattern of deception went unchallenged by the public and mainstream press, and soon extended to the Iraq war marketing effort and most neocon policy spin today. The quite apparent lesson is that if you can repeatedly get away with 9/11 lies, you can now lie with impunity about damn near anything.

8. If we apply the three cardinal principles of investigation:Motive, Means
and Opportunity, Bush's gang comes on top of anyone else in the world.
I was also struck by a statement by one of Russia's top spies that was reported yesterday that Al-Qaeda, Osama Bin Laden and the War on Terrorism were fictions concocted by this administration to launch wars at any one in the world on any pretext.

14. MOTIVE, MEANS AND OPPORTUNITY ISSUES
Who really profited from a crime and had the capability to ensure its success? These are the first questions an honest cop or prosecutor asks when investigating any serious offence. What does the Commission's consistent evasion of these issues say about its own integrity and intent?
MOTIVE ISSUES: CUI BONO - WHO PROFITS MOST?

3) Instant Fulfillment of the Neocon Wish List

For a huge military buildup and Middle East energy control
- In September 2000, one year before 9/11, the Bush team's neocon think tank PNAC (Project for a New American Century) published a plan for global domination called "Rebuilding America's Defenses". (Top Bush Administration figures like Cheney, Perle, Wolfowitz, Rumsfeld et al. were signers of PNAC's Statement of Principles.)
Their plan called for a huge boost in defense spending, full spectrum dominance over all nations and regions (including outer space), long term petro-resource control with permanent Middle East bases, and a preemptive war policy against recalcitrant states. However, they openly conceded that such a huge "transformation" would take forever "absent some cataclysmic and catalyzing event - like a new Pearl Harbor."

4) Political bonanza for Bush/Rove team
Instant irresistable power in Congress, media and the polls
In 1999, two years before the September 11 attacks, presidential candidate George W. Bush was already talking about the political benefits of attacking Iraq, according to his former ghost writer, Mickey Herskowitz. Bush: "One of the keys to being seen as a great leader is to be seen as a commander-in-chief. My father had all this political capital built up when he drove the Iraqis out of Kuwait and he wasted it. If I have a chance to invade... if I had that much capital, I'm not going to waste it. I'm going to get everything passed that I want to get passed."
Bush's former Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill recounted that at their first Cabinet meeting in January, 2001, Iraq oil concession maps were circulated and discussed and that Bush baldly told them to "find me a way" to take Iraq.

Herskowitz recalls in wonder that after the September 11 attacks "suddenly, he's at 91 percent in the polls, and he'd barely crawled out of the bunker..."

5) Scale and Diversity of Profiteering
So much gain for so few so fast
- Besides the millions in profits still unknown traders made the week of 9/11 betting on a WTC and United and American airlines catastrophe, our massive military responses generated billions for Halliburton, Bechtel and Carlyle related corporations. (During just the first 2 years, Cheney's 433,000 Halliburton stock options jumped to $26 million in worth.) The emergency also immediately blacked out coverage or investigation of Rumsfeld's September 10th acknowledgment that money was hemorrhaging from the Pentagon. "According to some estimates we cannot track $2.3 trillion in transactions," Rumsfeld finally admitted. But hey, we can't look into this now, it's "War on Terror" time!

20. To me the other two issues, Means and the Opportunity point the
finger directly at our government's own complicity even more than the very thorough motives you have examined. Any one who thinks that people who did not know how to pilot a Piper Cherokee could carry out the missions, not one but four, through one of the most heavily guarded airspaces in the world, is asking us to believe in the tooth fairy.I think a large organization with exhaustive communicatiosn and control capabilities was needed to execute this project.

The perpetrators, if they were an outside source, could not have dreamt that the entire NORAD apparatus would be asleep at the wheels and would have had to have inside information. Also they must have had excellent weather forecasting capabilities that would have made it possible to navigate the planes in the absence of control tower guidance.

I have no doubt at all that its was an inside job. The clincher for me was when Cheney threatened Daschle, not once but twice, to not call for any Senate investigation into the matter. The stonewalling of all investigations has all the earmarks of guilt.

29. There is a certain amount of continuity in our 'bipartisan' efforts.
While Clinton did not openly flaunt his asset in Afghanistan, he was clearly continuing Bush I's policies in Iraq by continuing the bombing of Iraq. When Bush II took over and launched his War on Terrorism, his deep frozen asset in Afghanistan was thawed out and pressed into service.

But do the FBLIARS ask questions??

Na its just bushiness as usual for the busheviks

http://www.hermes-press.com/BushSaud.htm
"Salem bin Laden, Osama’s brother, has conducted all his American affairs through James Bath, a Houston crony of the Bush family. Bath’s former business partner Bill White testified in court that Bath had been a liaison for the C.I.A. In 1979 Bath invested $50,000 in Arbusto, George W. Bush’s first business venture. Rumor had it that Bath was acting as Salem bin Laden’s representative. "In conflicting statements, Bush at first denied ever knowing Bath, then acknowledged his stake in Arbusto and that he was aware Bath represented Saudi interests." (4)
http://www.cosmosleft.com/pages/7/
That shortly after September 11, a special charter plane flew 11 members of Osama bin Laden's family from Boston's Logan Airport to Saudi Arabia?
That the bin Ladens, who were major investors in the Carlyle Group along with George H.W. Bush, sold their stake in the firm right after September 11?

That on the morning of September 11, 2001, George H.W. Bush met with Osama bin Laden's brother, Shafig bin Laden, at a conference sponsored by the Carlyle Group in the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Washington, DC? "

32. Marvin Bush,James Bath,Salem bin Laden and Mahfouz had business
in Saudi real estate..

bushiness as usual for the bush crime family syndicate

"Until November 2002, Bush served on the board of HCC Insurance Holdings, Inc. (formerly Houston Casualty Company), a re-insurer for the World Trade Center. Bush still serves as an adviser to the firm. Walker serves as chief executive officer of Aviation General, an aircraft company backed by KuwAm. Aviation General, formerly

Commander Aircraft, brokered the sale of airplanes to the National Civil Aviation Training Organization (NCATO), located in Giza, Egypt, the hometown of lead hijacker Mohammed Atta. NCATO is the only civilian pilot training school in Egypt. NCATO has a training agreement with Embry-Riddle University in Daytona Beach, Florida, the flight school that was investigated by the FBI for possibly training at least one of the 911 hijackers.

A Houston businessman who worked closely with the Bush family over the years confided that Marvin Bush and Wirt Walker appear to have taken over the Saudi real estate investment and aircraft brokerage business once run out of Texas by Houston-based James Bath in association with Salem bin Laden, the late brother of Osama bin Laden, and Khalid bin Mahfouz. The source, who has dealt personally with the Bush family in Houston for a number of years, said there should be skepticism when looking at bizarre deaths like that of Champagne. The source speculated that Champagne might have happened upon some sensitive information the Bush family wanted kept secret."

33. Please God - Let it not be MIHOP.
I'm in the LIHOP camp. I HATE Bush. I think he stole two elections. But - I love my country too much to let myself believe the MIHOP scenario. I can clearly envision the LIHOP. The warnings from Clinton, the FBI, foreign governments. The response from Bush not so hard to imagine - "Bring it on." Just like a big bully telling the scrawny kid to "Go ahead - hit me." Knowing that if the small kid was dumb enough to take the first shot - the bully would just smash his face and have a good reason for doing so. And no one would even notice the bully took off with the scrawny kids lunch money. Still - that's a long way from MIHOP. I definitely think Bush is a very bad guy - but I'm not psychologically ready for MIHOP.

Threshold Fears and Unanswered Questions about 9/11

By Peter Phillips
commondreams.org
March 6, 2005

For many Americans, there is a deep psychological desire for the 9/11 tragedy to be over. The shock of the day is well remembered and terrorist alerts from Homeland Security serve to maintain lasting tensions and fears. The 9/11 Commission report gave many a sense of partial healing and completion - especially given the corporate media's high praise of the report. There is a natural resistance to naysayers who continue to question the US government's version of what happened on September 11, 2001. This resistance is rooted in our tendency towards the inability to conceive of people we know as evil; instead evil ones must be others, very unlike ourselves.

We all remember, as young children, scary locations that created deep fears. We might imagine monsters in the closet, dangers in a nighttime backyard, and creepy people in some abandoned house down the street. As we get older we build up the courage to open the closet, or walk out into the backyard to smell the night air. As adults there are still dark closets in our socio-cultural consciousness that make it impossible to even consider the possibility of the truthfulness of certain ideas. These fearful ideas might be described as threshold concepts in that they may be on the borders of discoverability, yet we deny even the potentiality of implied veracity - something is so evil it is completely unimaginable.

A threshold concept facing Americans is the possibility that the 9/11 Commission Report was on many levels a cover-up for the failure of the US government to prevent the tragedy. Deeper past the threshold is the idea that the report failed to address sources of external assistance to the terrorists. Investigations into this area might have lead to a conclusion that elements of various governments - including our own - not only knew about the attacks in advance, but also may have helped facilitate their implementation. The idea that someone in the Government of the United States contributed support to such a horrific attack is inconceivable to many. It is a threshold concept that is so frightening that it brings up a state of mind akin to complete unbelievability.

Philosophy/Religion professor David Ray Griffin has recently published his findings on the omissions and distortions of the 9/11 Commission report. Griffin's book brings into question the completeness and authenticity of the 9/11 Commission's work. Griffin questions why extensive advanced warnings from several countries were not acted upon by the administration, how a major institutional investor knew to buy put-options on American and United Airlines before the attack, and why photos of the Pentagon immediately after the attack show damage inconsistent with a crash of a 757 airliner.

Additionally, Griffin notes questions remain on why the 9/11 Commission failed to address the reports that $100,000 was wired to Mohamed Atta from Saeed Sheikh, an agent for Pakistan's Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI), under the direction of the head of ISI General Mahmud Ahmed. General Ahmed resigned his position less than one month later. The Times of India reported that Indian intelligence had given US officials evidence of the money transfer ordered by Ahmad and he was dismissed after the "US authorities sought his removal."

Also, the 9/11 Commission report failed to address the reasons for the collapse of World Trade Center (WTC) building 7 more than six hours after the attack. WTC-7 was a 47-story steel frame building that had only small fires on a few floors. WTC buildings 5 & 6 had much larger fires and did not collapse. This has led a number of critics to speculate that WTC 7 was a planned demolition.

Overall concerns with the official version of 9/11 have been published and discussed by scholars and writers around the world including: Jim Mars, Nafeez Ahmed, Michael Ruppert, Cynthia McKinney, Barrie Zwicker, Webster Tarpley, Michel Chossudovsky and many others. The response to most has been to label these discussions as conspiracy theories unworthy of media coverage or further review. Pursuit of a critical analysis of these questions is undermined by the psychological barrier about 9/11 issues as threshold concepts - too awful to even consider.

We may be on the borders of discovery regarding the possibility of a great evil within our own government, and perhaps others outside as well. We must step past the threshold and have the courage to ask the questions, demand answers, and support research into all aspects of this American tragedy. Perhaps the closet isn't as dark and as fearful as we envision. If we don't courageously look and search into the deepest regions of our fears how can we assure our children and ourselves a safe and honest future?

Peter Phillips is a Professor of Sociology at Sonoma State University and Director of Project Censored a media research organization.

David Ray Griffin's book "The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions" is available from Olive Branch Press.

"Navigation for 9/11 Newbies"
The Two-Step 9/11 Truth Expedition
by David Kubiak

Understanding the full truth of 9/11 seems to require two separate awakenings.

The first, awakening to the fraudulence of the "official 9/11 story," is a pretty simple brain function and only requires a little study, logic or curiosity. We can help a lot with that part here and it's a major purpose of this site.

The second step, however, consciously confronting the implications of that knowledge--and what it says about our media, politics and economic system today--is by far the harder awakening and requires an enormous exercise of nerve and heart. (As the Chinese say, "You cannot wake up a man who is pretending to sleep.") In other words, this part of the journey depends more on character than on maps and evidence so we can't help you much here, except to point out inspiring heroes and heroines who have courageously faced that truth, spoken out, and survived. (Though we might also point out the intriguing fact that our 9/11 heroines now outnumber 9/11 heroes by about six to one.)

that has cost the lives of nearly 2,000 service men and women and uncounted thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians
  • The enactment of laws that are gutting the constitution and setting us up for a surveillance society out of our worst nightmare
  • They are robbing the public coffers and want to do away with Social Security

They have gotten away with ALL of this AND MORE! Every day there is some NEW offence directly connected to their criminality--much of it we never even hear about. THEY ARE PROFITING from criminality of the highest order. They have control of the Executive, the Congress, Justice, most of the military AND the media. It is WORKING for them. Why should they stop?
  • They want to institute a Draft and militarize the entire nation
  • They want to use tactical nukes in the Middle East and elsewhere--AND THEY ARE LOOKING FOR THE JUSTIFICATION FOR BOTH OF THESE

If you understand nothing else, you must understand this: They will NOT stop until they ARE stopped.

41.  A reason they left out - Media compliance
Despite all the problems with the "arab conspiracy" explanation for 9-11, the media has never challenged it. There's no need for a coverup unless there's something to hide.
