An Army staff sergeant suffering from stress ends up fighting for his life—in a U.S. courtroom.

The timing could have been devastating for S/Sgt. Georg-Andreas Pogany. As Jessica Lynch prepared to uncork on television about her heroic gun battle to the near-death, Sergeant Pogany sat in a military courtroom while a prosecutor formally charged him with “cowardice.”

BUT BOTH SCENES played against expectations today. In a preview of her Tuesday-night interview on ABC, Lynch said she really hadn’t done anything heroic—her gun jammed. And the Army dropped cowardice charges against Pogany, opting instead for dereliction of duty, the equivalent of a misdemeanor.
Pogany, 32, still faces the task of reviving his reputation—but at least he no longer faces death, the maximum penalty for the anachronistic cowardice charge. Meanwhile, the Army has a lot of ground to make up with soldiers and the doctors who help them. “Unless there are extenuating circumstances that we don’t know about,” says Col. Rene Robichaux, chief of the Army’s.

Link has form to MSGOP. Ask them about Bush being AWOL in Texas or even if National Guard duty could be considered 'lack of courage' and if Bush got this duty because of family connections!
