9/11 Commission to Subpoena NORAD Information

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The national commission investigating the Sept. 11 hijacked plane attacks decided on Friday to subpoena the military's North American Aerospace Defense Command records for information it promised but did not deliver.

It would be the second subpoena issued by the commission which has complained of delays by some government agencies in providing information needed to complete the investigation by a May deadline.


The commission subpoenaed the Federal Aviation Administration (news - web sites) in October, accusing it of slowing the probe by not providing timely and complete information.


The panel in May requested information on air traffic control tracking of hijacked aircraft and the agency's communication with NORAD, the U.S.-Canadian military alliance that scrambled fighter jets during the attacks.

exactly why no planes took off to intercept the airliners until over an hour after it was evident that they were hijacked is something that needs to be found out . . . seems this commission MIGHT be growing some gonads . . . MIGHT, I said . . .

The commission will "find" that there is insufficient evidence of any intentional wrongdoing. Negligence, maybe. Bureauracratic snafus, maybe. But, that's about it. They might even go so far as to bring up some low-midlevel person(s) before their committe and publicly whack 'em on the pee-pee.

My God man, do your realize what it would be like if the commission came out and declared a 9/11 MIHOP scenario with exhausting complicity? The nation would just collapse.

That's the whole purpose of having a commission. However; to answer your question, I think it's very possible that were that to happen; the public is so ______; Rush, Bunnypants, and the liberal media would just tell 'em it's all Clinton's fault, and that would be the end of that.

A couple months ago on NOW with Bill Moyers there was a segment on the four 9/11 widows who are demanding more info and accountability. Moyers said at one point that the FBI had descended on the FAA and seized records, logs, and recordings from Sept.11. Has anyone else heard anything about this? If it is true, then the commission needs to be going after the FBI for the info it is trying to get from the FAA
