USA v. Usama bin Laden et al trial - Official Court Documents
Below is a copy of the main page with links for all of the documents and transcripts from the trial of the 1993 WTC bombers. In the end four terrorists were convicted to life terms. This is what happens when you allow our system of justice to work. Here is proof that you can bring terrorist to trial in an open court in the US. We don't need secret prisons and torture to bring terrorists to justice.

Anyway, lot's of good info here, especially for 9-11 researchers. Enjoy!

BTW: Guess who is the lead prosecutor? Patrick Fitzgerald.

1. Some peculiarities about that case
(read Peter Lance, 1000 Years for Revenge).

The FBI had an informant in the group that was building
the bomb. They had planned to have him substitute harmless
powder for the explosive material, and then they took him
off the case and the real bomb was constructed.

A US Army sergeant, Ali Mohamed, was photographed training
the 93 WTC bombers in the use of firearms. Later, when
he was charged in connection with the African embassy
bombings by al Qaeda, a plea bargain was negotiated by
none other than Patrick Fitzgerald. Ali Mohamed was
never sentenced in that case, and nobody knows where he
is now.

One problem with these secret detentions and such is that
they provide lots of cover for operatives--which might not
be a problem if we could trust our government.

Use of lethal injection for execution also brings up
problems in verifiability. For instance, how do we know
Timothy McVeigh is really dead?

3. There seems to be some overlap of personel
between the CIA and al Qaeda. Makes it even harder to figure out who the bad guys are when you play these kind of games. No wonder BushCo only wants secret prisons and haven't convicted a single terrorist since 9-11.

4. By the way, thanks for those transcripts.
I put them in a single 12,000 page Word file and can now do a search of names like Ali Mohammed to see what was said of him. Trouble is, three times the court reporter spelled it Mohammed with two 'm's. But it's very valuable. Thanks again.

5. Search on "Moham*" or "Ali"
Thanks for searching the transcripts.

When America understands the truth about 9/11 the people will be howling for Bush
to be sent to the Hague. But first we have to try to get DU to see the truth.
We have to get the Green Party to see the truth. We have to get the Democrats
to recognize the need for a new investigation.

2006 can be the year of 9/11 truth. Five-year retrospectives in the media offer
an opportunity for revisiting significant anniversaries in the road to 9/11.

7. Save the html as a text file to your hard disk, then open it
in a word processor that has more sophisticated search functions than your browser does.

Or use the google's site search function:

This search: site:ht tp://cryptome.org/usa-v-ubl-* "ali mohammed" got four hits

(fix broken "ht tp")

This search: site:ht tp://cryptome.org/usa-v-ubl-* "ali mohamed" got 20 hits

10. Here's some sources I used for my timeline in addition to the transcript
Ali Mohamed: The Defendant Who Did Not Go to Trial
Mohamed, 48, is a former Egyptian intelligence officer who became a United States citizen and a U.S. Army sergeant assigned to a Special Forces unit at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He left the U.S. Army in 1989 and in the early 1990s became involved in the Egyptian Islamic Jihad organization, which also worked with al Qaeda. He then trained fighters in surveillance techniques at al Qaeda camps in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Observers had expected Mohamed to be a key government witness against the four defendants during the trial, which began in January 2001. However, while his name was mentioned during testimony on contacts with El Hage and documents taken from his California home were entered into evidence, the former surveillance instructor never took the stand.

Mohamed's plea agreement with the government remains secret.

Ex US soldier admits embassy bombings
A former US Army sergeant has admitted involvement in the 1998 bombings of two US embassies in Africa in which 224 people were killed, 12 of them Americans.

Egyptian-born Ali Mohamed, 48, admitted conspiring with Osama bin Laden and others to murder Americans.

1993-1998: Al-Qaeda Double Agent Is Arrested and Then Released; Tells Secrets About al-Qaeda
Canadian police arrest Ali Mohamed, a high-ranking al-Qaeda figure. However, they release him when the FBI says he is a US agent. Mohamed, a former US Army sergeant, will continue to work for al-Qaeda for a number of years. He trains bin Laden's personal body guards and trains an al-Qaeda cell in Kenya that later blows up the US embassy there. Meanwhile, between 1993 and 1997 he tells secrets to the FBI about al-Qaeda's operations. He is re-arrested in late 1998 and subsequently convicted for his role in the 1998 US embassy bombing in Kenya. “For five years he was moving back and forth between the US and Afghanistan. It's impossible the CIA thought he was going there as a tourist. If the CIA hadn't caught on to him, it should be dissolved and its budget used for something worthwhile,” according to a former Egyptian intelligence officer.

Terror 'Blowback' Burns CIA

America's spies paid and trained their nation's worst enemies, reveals Andrew Marshall in Washington
The Independent
November 1, 1998
Last week, it was revealed that one of those under arrest is a former Egyptian soldier named Ali Mohamed, who is alleged to have provided training and assistance to Mr. bin Laden's operatives. Yet Mr. Mohamed, it is clear from his record, was working for the US government at the time he provided the training: he was a Green Beret, part of America's Special Forces.

The Ali Mohamed-FBI Bungle
By Peter Dale Scott, Pacific News Service
Posted on June 25, 2004, Printed on December 11, 2005
http://www.alternet.org/story/19046/
It is clear that important new evidence about al Qaeda has been gathered and released by the 9/11 Commission. But it is also clear that the commission did nothing when a Justice Department official, in commission testimony last week, brazenly covered up the embarrassing relationship of the FBI to a senior al Qaeda operative, Ali Mohamed. By telling the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) to release Mohamed in 1993, the FBI may have contributed to the bombing of the U.S. Embassy in Kenya five years later.

The official testifying was Patrick J. Fitzgerald, U.S. Attorney for Northern Illinois, who prosecuted two terrorism cases involving Mohamed. As Fitzgerald told the commission, Ali Mohamed was an important al Qaeda agent who "trained most of al Qaeda's top leadership," including "persons who would later carry out the 1993 World Trade Center bombing."

Ali Mohammed
Ali Mohammed has one hell of a resume. A sergeant in the Egyptian Army, a sergeant in the U.S. Special Forces, and a member of al Qaeda who served as Osama bin Laden's chief of security. Along the way, he did a stint as an FBI informant and a CIA agent, things that make you go hmmmm...
