Tell me I'm crazy: I thought bush said "evil green eyeshadow" Did he???
I did a double take, but was drinking my Diet Coke when he said it and wasn't quite sure of what I heard.

What WAS that? Why was he talking about cosmetics???

I've never heard that before. I thought it was another, talking out loud to himself moment when he caught two particularly hot fundy types in the audience with their makeup gun set on whore.

as a little guy sitting at a desk and wearing a green eyeshade is a standard image. If you ever watch old movies, you will see such characetrs fairly frequently. But the allusion is pretty passe now, so no one under a certain age is likely to understand it.

24. It's green and looks like the 'bill' of a baseball cap.. . . . .
. . .but without the cap. Seems like I used to see those in 'period' or historic movies, worn by bank tellers, and railroad ticket clerks, usually with celluloid collars and sleeve garters. Really arcane imagery! What did he mean by that?

21. Bean counters, body bag counters, so what?
Bush is remarkably independent of facts and reality. His whole life seems to revolve around misrepresenting what he is doing or has done, and deflecting blame. I'd say 95% of his energy is devoted to this, while Mr Cheney and Mr Wolfowitz run the White House.

Bush isn't interested in bean counters who accurately count beans. His idea of bean counters are those who are willing to lie about how many beans there are. Bizarre.

25. 95% of his energy devoted to covering his ass is right - considering that
his mind can't wrap itself around anything more complex than, say, a bean burrito, we should understand why this ass covering activity exhausts the little man and he has to get lots of sleep at night and diversion during the day through manic exercise.

14. The trouble with that reference is, that it goes over the
heads of most people these days.

How many people thirty and under associate a green eye-shade with accountants?

Many of us do all our accounting on the Internet(s), and increasingly, we do our banking and buying on the Internet(s).

I taught an accounting class a few years ago. Not because I wanted to, but because I had had a couple of classes in college, and they were short a teacher for one section. I rarely used the textbook. I assigned some reading, but we did most things in the computer lab.

Green eye-shade, my ass.
