Poll question: Did Bush drop his accent?
Someone mentioned that in passing, and I'm not sure.

2. Yes, he did. And I should know.
Texan born and bred here.

The energizerbunnyfreakmonkey always drops the drawl when he's in a hurry.

Last night he was like a 33 1/3 RPM played at 78 RPM.

Reminded me of Dave and The Chipmunks.

3. No, for at least the last half he sounded like a cracker on crack
When Bush talked about domestic issues he went into that phony folksy thing that puts my teeth on edge. He may have sounded a bit less Texan in the first part of the debate but by the end he was Ross Perot without the originality.

5. That would explain why I couldn't figure it out
In other words, the accent came back when he wasn't screaming so much?

6. Of course
he flip flopped thru the entire debate. You could tell when he realized he was losing his accent and he made an obvious effort to drawl a few words. The man is phoney thru and thru.

7. Every time he uttered "united" it came out "YOU-ny-ted"
I though he was pouring on his faux southern drawl.

I am from Missouri. Being born and bred in Missouri, I can tell ya'll, when we natives hear missourah, we know it is time to stop listening cause the speaker does not know what he is talking about.
