The one thing we know for sure is that there *is* a bulge.

If it's a wire, then we can conclude that Bush has been getting help for a long time, and even with help, he still sucks.

If it's a back brace, and he is having problems with his back, he may very well be on strong pain killers, especially on the grueling campaign trail. I believe that this would explain much.

He has fallen apart before our eyes. And he seems to be getting worse every day.

Either way, the bulge is a win for us.

3. OK: fill me in here.
Why is a back brace a sign of drug use?

4. It's An Oblique Reference To Oxycontin
Edited on Tue Oct-12-04 09:10 PM by mermaid
Flush Rimbaugh was O.D ing on Oxycontin, he initially was placed on it supposedly after a back surgery, and a herniated disc in his back.

Hence, the connection between a back brace and drug use (oxycontin) which is a very strong, very addictive pain-killer.

Understand?

5. If Bush is in pain, he's using pain killers. That explains his rapid
deterioration.

Oh, wait, were you looking for real logic. Sorry, we aren't playing that game any more.

This race is being run on assumptions and mischaracterizations, and I have no qualms about making negative assumptions about Bush.

11. I saw that, and the earlier posts pointing to whitehouse.gov pics
but quite frankly, I remember seeing that shot of Bush in Crawford when it first came out. Call me crazy, but I don't remember seeing that wire on the first shots. It looks photoshopped in to me. Makes me think about those Rather documents, if you know what I mean.

The whole wire thing, whether true or not, is a red herring. Despite my opinion on that, I couldn't resist posting my catch-22.

8. Wouldn't surprise me...
His posture is horrible. Look at the side view some time, his ears are way out front of his shoulders. I'm sure both these guys (Bush and Cheney) are in constant pain.

12. Bush had a back injury in 1990
according to the Presidential Medical Exam available at the White House website, performed in August, 2001. Apparently, Bush was asymptomatic regarding his back when the medical exam was performed.

http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2001/08/20010804-2.html

After this 2001 report, made directly by Bush's examining physicians, I can find no other direct reports about Bush with a Doctor's name on it. What I do find are Bush's Press Secretary reports to the press giving a second-hand account of the results of his annual physical exams of 2002 and 2003. I don't find any published report signed by Bush's doctors.

Anyone have any links to actual physical examination reports for 2002 and 2003 from the mouths of the examining doctors themselves regarding Bush's physical condition?
