There goes the Protestant vote
Justification by works over justification by faith. Why not just burn a picture of Luther right on stage, Kerry. Not a great strategy. Don't let this pig win!

3. All you'll lose is the fundies. They're lost already
In several meanings of the word.

6. Yeah, that will cost him the theologian vote
People who care weren't voting for him anyway. But it may provoke some angry sermons this weekend.

7. My thoughts exactly. But then I got flamed for thinking!
Come on folks, let's be grown ups here. If we can't take criticism among ourselves, what do we expect of others?

8. My post was meant in a light vein
I doubt if the majority of protestants even care about this issue. But it is something I run up against a lot in classes.

9. Calvinists don't believe "grace" can be earned. It's
bestowed by God on those He decides ahead of time are "saved." That's why some so-called "christians" don't believe in helping the poor; they believe the poor are poor because God wanted them poor.

Is that what you meant? Sort of? I'm no theologian by any means.

10. I don't think those voters could be swayed, ever...
Those who believe that the poor should be poor because God hates them would never vote for Kerry, anyways.

11. I think you aren't understanding the protestant tenet
God gives you grace, you don't earn it. You show your faith by your deeds. Not to be judged by others, but God enters your life and you want to act on your faith. Kerry spoke to me. I'm a protestant.

12. I'm a Catholic
and my views are just about the same as Kerry's. I don't see where he "lost" anyone myself.

That is a horrible question to ask IMO. We should leave religion out of presidential debates.
