Wireless earpiece technology - Was Bush wired?
Edited on Thu Oct-14-04 10:57 AM by familydoctor
I did some checking online to see what technology is out there and in my opinion it seems to support the idea that Bush could have worn a wireless earpiece and a some sort of receiver/sender to communicate w/ the earpiece.

I've always wondered if Bush had a device why didn't he wear it in the small of his back (were you can conceal an Uzi un-noticed) and what I found is that the wireless ear devices have a very short reception range, measured in the tens of centimeters.

A device worn where we suspect he had one would be within range but anything further would not.

The remote communication to transmit to the device worn on the back could be hundreds of meters away.

I am not an expert on this but everything we suspect seems to "fit" what you can easily find online.

I gotta go back to work. Can some one find and post a link to the 32 pages of rules essentially written by the Bush campaign? I feel I vaguely remember there was something in the rules to prohibit the cameras from taking pictures of the candidates from the back. If I remember correctly, it seemed odd to read at the time but now it would make more sense.

Wireless Earpiece

This small wireless device is inserted into the ear canal and on your person you have the miniature sender unit, this transmits to the earpiece. The normal way to use this is that on your person you would have a receiver from a 2 way radio or the receiver from a body wire set, the output from this is linked via the earphone socket to the sender unit which transmits to the wireless earpiece, enabling you to listen unnoticed to all the conversations your receiver is picking up.

1. Very possible - but the Bell's palsy look makes me guess a drug
therapy explanation - either instead of being wired for sound, or in addition to being wired for sound.

The way he stopped when stumped, looked down, and then gave forth numbers, made me think he was wired for sound,

Plus the "Look down comment "Bob" in the second debate, and the "Let me finish" seem to imply hearing voices.

I suspect that drug therapy reality/excuse will be used to cover the debate cheating box on his back - if any media chases it!

2. I'm confused. First, Bush doesn't seem to have Bell's Palsy to me...
and second what would that have to do with a box on his back?

4. The frozen face and spit that he does not notice = ?
"Bell's Palsy" as used by me is a phrase folks would know that indicates the facial paralysis.

The stroke after effects of huge pain might require a constant flow of pain meds - hence the box.

The piece of logic is just based on my knowing about such boxes, and about such facial paralysis - not meant to be practicing Medicine without a license! :-)

3. Here's the "rules" pdf with the rule about not shooting from the back...

Page 16, section 9, sub section a, paragraph vi

"The camera located at the rear of the stage shall be used only to take shots of the moderator".

That seems like an odd rule to me. What could it be that they didn't want us to photograph?

Also interestingly, the rules go into great detail about having "secluded" dressing rooms that must have TV monitors in them. I think this last bit is quite circumstantial but it raises questions in my mind.

Go back and read the rules with the mindset that Bush was wired. You'll see that a lot of the rules seem geared towards making such a wiring job more successful.
