Why I'm not going to vote on Nov. 2nd
You see it goes like this. CNN/USA TOADY/GALLUP keep coming out and say SHRUB is going to win. So this is very demoralizing. Then CNN asks me whether I think Kerry is going to win or Shrub. I say Kerry but other Dems say Shrub. So it's like 56% think Shrub is going to win and 36% Kerry. This depresses me even more. So then CNN says, since your depressed, your not going to show up to the polls. Your not a likely voter, and in fact, even if you were to vote you would only count as 3/5 a person. I then get even more depressed and others get the same feeling and then we all don't go to the polls because it's all over. It is over and Shrub is the Winner, because CNN says so.

So I'm not voting because the Democrats never said we were going to win. They never say the CNN poll is bullshit, so all I can do is assume it must be true. Oh woe is me. It's too bad no one is going to stop the absolute bullshit that CNN keeps spewing at the public. They actually do this shit with a straight face. They get away with it because no one holds them accountable.

The above is just talk.

I will still come out to vote......but How many people do you think will look at CNN's polls and maps and say.....well the hell with it....My vote won't count. Shrub has it already won...

Sure, YOU'RE super smart because you hang out at DU and are UBER in intelligence.....but what about gullible people out there that only watch TV and don't even know about DU? I assure you...there are far more people in the latter than the former. We have two weeks left....I hope we get people to the polls early as hell before Shrub springs the October Takeover of the country or before everyone falls for CNN's bullshit.

3. You think too much!
Go exercise your responsibility as a US citizen and vote. And stop worrying about it.

I'm voting tomorrow. It's great to cast an early vote.

6. the opposite effect could happen as well
If Kerry were shown to be very far ahead, Dems might stay home 'cuz they think he has it wrapped up.
I think the polls are bogus, vote no matter what!

"But what about gullible people out there that only watch TV and don't even know about DU?"

I hope you'll be knocking on their doors tomorrow morning and ringing their phones off the hook and letting them know one-by-one why there IS hope in voting for JK & JE.

I know I will be. Actually, I'll be knocking on doors to register voters tomorrow morning.

Okay, between Nimble_Idea and me, that makes two! Who else is in??!

8. I'm not voting on November 2 either
I'm voting at 7 AM tomorrow when early voting begins in Texas.

CNN? I don't watch it. MSGOP? Don't watch that either. Faux News? Don't even go there.

Before this year, my political activity didn't go beyond voting. This year I have spent untold hours getting people riled up, donated way more money than I can afford, and registered more than five hundred people to vote. Multiply me by the thousands of other people just like me and I know we are going to win.

Turn off your TV. Turn it back on on January 20 to watch the inauguration of President Kerry.

13. Already voted
And though I can't do a door to door from where I live on the planet, I'm emailing and calling and encouraging all I know who live in the US as well as those US citizens I know here to get out and vote.

I understand how disheartening it is - I can remember elections where people on the West Coast didn't even bother to vote because of the news "exit poll" reports.

Just gotta keep fighting.

I'm in Australia. Been here since 1998, so got to watch the 2000 "election" in a state of shock from outside the US. Been doing all I can to get people to vote to get Bush out this time.

18. I'm definitely not voting on Nov. 2nd.
I voted yesterday. :hi:
Did the early voting thing...So much easier. And now I can walk around with my button that says "I voted early." People have been asking me how to vote early- some seem genuinely surprised that anyone can vote early here, not just people who need additional assistance with voting.

Has anyone else found way(s) of informing dems/independants about the benefits of early voting? I'd be interested in hearing some ideas!

20. In Austin we printed flyers
touting early voting, listing the locations and explaining how to use the machine. One version is blank on the other side so it is a nonpartisan leaflet which can be left at businesses where our voters are likely to shop---or you can print your own message. There is also a version highlighting issues which have polled well here and listing our local slate of candidates. This weekend we began sticking them on doors of Democrats and undecided voters all around the city.
