11. Wisconsin poll:
"In the Toss-Up state of Wisconsin, our latest poll shows Kerry with a single point lead, 48% to 47%."

Presidential Tracking Poll: Bush-Kerry

Monday October 18, 2004--With just 15 days to go, the race for the White House is tied once again. The latest Rasmussen Reports Presidential Tracking Poll shows President George W. Bush and Senator John Kerry each attracting 47% of the vote. The Tracking Poll is updated daily by noon Eastern.

The New York Times and Senator Kerry have brought Social Security back into the campaign over the past two days. An earlier Rasmussen Reports survey found voters evenly divided as to which is riskier--letting workers invest on their own or relying on the federal government for promised benefits. As you would expect, there are huge generational differences on this issue.

While the national polls remain fairly constant, showing anything from a Toss-Up to a modest Bush advantage, the state-by-state terrain is shifting.

Today, the President is speaking in New Jersey, a state that was considered safe for the Democrats when the year began... and a state the Republicans think may now be in play. Democrats are also working to defend other states carried by Al Gore four years ago including Pennsylvania, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

However, over the past ten days, Senator Kerry has gained several percentage points in the 16-states thought to be Battlegrounds when the year began.

19. I notice Rasmussen is repeating that Rovian line
about NJ being "in play." It's the bandwagon effect - Rove did it in 2000 when he told people Bush was going to win in a landslide in order to demoralize Dems. It was a lie; the race was much closer.

15. Fuck Gallup
Look at how they botched their polls in 2000.

When Gallup fucks this one up, not even the whores will be able to take them seriously anymore.

14. Amusing, Since . . .
. . . Rasmussen is well known for making sure * is up in every survey he does (this one, by the way, qualifies - - 47.5 to 47.3; hard to believe he didn't round * up to 48). The Wisconsin poll he just released and the national poll are clear indicators of huge Kerry momentum.

Gallup can release all the cooked data they want, and Cokehead can scream all she wants about how the entire country changed its vote over Mary Cheney, but the real surveys say otherwise . . . continuing momentum for John Kerry and John Edwards persists. And shall hopefully continue.

22. Rasmussen isn't using enough Republican voters.
And he needs to weight for enthusiasm. And stuff like that. Then he'd get a fair result.
