Got this at work...

Christopher Reeve Message To Kerry???

Nothing appears to be above exploitation. John Kerry even dedicated a speech he delivered on Monday to the late actor Christopher Reeve. Kerry said he knew the "Superman" actor for about 15 years through family and dedication to the same causes, and said Reeve left him a long voice-mail on Saturday thanking him for campaigning on the possibilities of a cure for conditions like his.

It had been originally reported that Reeve died on Sunday after slipping into a coma on Thursday following complications from treatment for a bed sore. After John Kerry's speech, reports of Reeve's death were changed to remove the reference to Thursday in order to make it possible for Reeve to call John Kerry and leave a long message for him on his answering machine on Saturday night. Evidently, Kerry didn't know about the "coma" part until after the speech, but his well-oiled damage-control team was already on it.

Now, a quick Google search and EVERY article I found said that Reeve suffered a cardiac arrest on Saturday, passed into a coma, and died Sunday. It's even on the freeper's very own Faux News website: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,135149,00.html

However, if you doa Google news search for "Christopher Reeve coma" odered by date (http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&ned=us&q=christopher+reeve+coma&ie=UTF-8&scoring=d) , you get a whole bunch of articles labeled "Have you no shame, Senators?"

Any idea where these wingnuts are getting this idea? Sure seems like a typical Rovian trick to try and distract people....

Why has no one brought up Mindy the soldiers widow Bush was loving up. Why hasn't she been trotted out. Did Bush actually meet with a dead soldiers wife? Would be a first! I find it hard to believe that Republican opportunists wouldn't have capitalized on this now --If it were True!

2. Maybe because the context of that quote was so weird and creepy

they would rather just forget it.

11. They won't bring Mindy out because...
Go get a copy of Sam Kinison's "Live from Hell" CD and listen to "Jerry's Bastard Kid." The concert was held in Vegas on Labor Day weekend and Kinison was "honoring" Jerry Lewis for all of the wonderful things he does...so he brought out one of Jerry's kids--one someone gave a beer to.

"Isn't Jerry just the greatest guy?"
'Fuck him. He's never done a thing for me.'

I mention this little skit because if Bush were to bring out a war widow, it would be "Dubya's Bastard War Widow."

'Mindy, I love you and I grieve for your sacrifice.'
"Yeah? Well, fuck you, you murdering idiot. You KNEW there was no WMD. You KNEW Saddam wasn't a threat. You KNEW he wasn't in collusion with al-Qaeda. But you knew Iraq had a lot of oil your friends wanted. So what did you do? You sent my husband off to be killed for NOTHING! You love me? Great! Fuckin' wonderful! Dump that airheaded bitch you're married to, put a ring on my finger and raise these three kids you left fatherless. Look into their eyes every day. Tell them why you murdered their father. Do it! Look at my hand. Put a ring right on this finger and tell me you love me. Tell me you'll take responsibility for my kids--it will be the first thing you ever took responsibility for in your life. But until then, just shut the fuck up, you worthless piece of shit."

5. even so..
even if he went into a coma on thursday, isn't it possible that Kerry just checked his voicemail on saturday, and presumed the message had been left that day?

8. Hal Lindsey!
He wrote, "The Late Great Planet Earth". Way crazy religious-anti-communist rant. He was also an advisor to President Ray-gun. Scary dude.

10. A direct quote from People magazine:
"By Sunday afternoon the family was gathered."

"Reeve died at 5:20PM of cardiac failure, brought on by a raging infection that had spread from a bedsore. And yet the night before had been, for Reeve, a typical one. He watched Will's hockey game not far from home.("He tried to go to all of Will's sporting events," says Reeve's longtime friend, photographer Ken Regan.) Then the two had been driven back to the house and watched the Yankees-Twins game."

Sorry, no link. I am typing directly from my magazine.
