"Kucinich, proudly individualistic, shuns the pack"
"Northern California is key to my strategy for winning the White House,'' Kucinich says. "The response here has empowered my campaign.''

Indeed, his local appeal was illustrated in a visit to Berkeley -- where he delivered a rousing, and often eloquent, sermon on politics to an adoring standing-room-only crowd of 1,200 packed into the pews of a church.
...
Indeed, his supporters include a range of people from former San Francisco Green Party mayoral candidate Matt Gonzalez to actors Danny Glover, Ed Asner and Hector Elizondo, singer Ani DiFranco, and Rep. Lynn Woolsey, D- Petaluma.

Country legend Willie Nelson, another backer, was inspired to write a song for Kucinich. ("Hell they won't lie to me/Not on my own damn TV/But how much is a liar's word worth/And whatever happened to peace on earth?'')"

1. It's about time.
I was really glad to see this show up. People need to hear about their choices before they make up their minds.

My favorite part:

"I've never worked for a political campaign before,'' said Fairbanks, who added that she is deeply concerned about the American military presence in Iraq. "I heard Dennis, and I thought, 'Am I dreaming?' He really speaks for us. ... It's a commitment to world peace. Dennis is the only candidate who supports that.''

And Kucinich, for his part, stubbornly tells his supporters and volunteers to ignore the pundits and instead focus on the words of Gandhi: "First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win."

2. Good for Kucinich
Whether he wins or not, he's brought attention to some important issues and we Dems owe him a debt of gratitude for that. Good work, Dennis!

If he is not our nominee, those issues will be swept under the rug at the first wonderful lobbyist luncheon.
