Blitzer almost sounds shocked listening to Daryl Waltrip...like..."are you really that stupid, buddy?" Waltrip tells Wolf about W being a hard worker who has a farm. Wolf tells him, "Uh, it's not really a farm, I've been there. It's hundreds and hundreds of acres..."

Wolf was similarly incredulous when Waltrip talked about how strong W was, and what a great leader he was. "But what about the fact that John Kerry served in Viet Nam, and George Bush went into the NG?" "Well, goll dangit, I'd say you better watch out when you go saying bad things about the National Guard! How do you think it makes them guardsmen feel?" "That isn't what I said," Wolf replies. "You're old enough to remember, people who didn't want to get sent to fight went into the National Guard; today they deployed for months at a time."

Waltrip used his stock answer, as he did each and every time Wolf pointed out how what Waltrip was saying didn't jibe with reality..."Well, gosh darnit, look Wolf, I'm not an ISSUES MAN! I don't know much about issues, what I know is that George Bush will keep us safe!"

There you have it. I'm reminded of a quote, I think from a fellow DUer..."If being an elitist means I'm not the dumbest mother fucker in the room, then that's fine with me."

No one has to worry about being the dumbest mofo in the room as long as NASCAR hero Daryl Waltrip is around!

And it is incredibly stupid. You stand there (I was on the infield) and every 45 seconds you get to see a group of very loud cars streak by in a flash. I don't see what the attraction is.

...as it is in most sporting events, not just the act of driving in circles. Personally, NASCAR doesn't stimulate me in any cerebral way, however I can see why others may enjoy it.:)
