Poll question: DUrs, help us decide, where would you go?
My sis and I want to leave our blue state to help with last-minute GOTV canvassing, getting folks to the polls, etc., probably with ACT. The problem is in which state would we be most effective? There are so many squeakers according to the polls right now. What would you do (travel money notwithstanding)? Ohio is an obvious choice, but I think it's going to be well-staffed as is...

1. Well, it's not on your list but I wonder about Arkansas?
The last polls I saw showed it very close and it has enough electoral votes to be really helpful.

3. help us in MO
We're within the MOE on the last poll I saw, and if we turn out our voters in the cities MO is going to be the surprise on November 2nd.

Bush has pulled his advertising here, because he expects a win. My Kerry campaign coordinator was reassigned to Ohio last week. With so little attention paid here by either campaign now, I think it could go either way.

6. The two big prizes are Ohio and Florida.
Kerry is on the verge of vicory in both, based on polls.

But shrub has a brother in the gov's mansion in Florida and that means a stolen election there is more likely than in Ohio, so your work in Ohio might be more valuable.

Just my opinion.

I may be working in Ohio myself.

10. On the other hand...
The "more electoral votes" arguments don't sway me too much since it's all proportional. Smaller EVs means we can have more relative effect (maybe). Sort of comes down to which state seems within grasp and also has more persuadable voters. Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa, all seem on a knife edge and could be Dem sleepers. They might not like my funny West Coast accent, though. :silly:

7. Come to Florida. We have the MOST electoral votes of any swing state
and most polls show we're dead even or Kerry is slightly ahead.

9. Wisconsin is very important this time.
If we win all of the states Gore won in 2000, except for Wisconsin. Our only real chance of winning would be to pick up either Ohio or Florida.
