The networks of NBC News will provide comprehensive Election Night coverage and political analysis across all platforms -- NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC, Telemundo, MSNBC.com, NBC Radio and NBC Mobile -- on Tuesday, November 2, 2004. Coverage will include in-depth reporting and analysis of election results and voter trends for the race for President, U.S. Senate, U.S. House and gubernatorial elections.
Tom Brokaw will anchor NBC News' network coverage from NBC News world headquarters in New York. Coverage will be live from a special "Decision 2004" studio located in Rockefeller Plaza, and will be set against the backdrop of "Democracy Plaza" -- an interactive exhibition on the history of democracy and citizenship in the United States. Joining Brokaw will be "Meet the Press" moderator and senior political analyst Tim Russert. Brian Williams, reporting from the "Decision 2004" tracking center at "Democracy Plaza," will report exit poll results. A team of NBC News correspondents will also report live from the Bush and Kerry campaigns as well as on key statewide races.
Election Night coverage will begin at 6:30 p.m., ET on "NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw." Network Election Night coverage will begin at 7:00 p.m. and continue until 2:00 a.m., ET. However, coverage will continue as long as the presidential race remains in doubt. NBC News will also offer its affiliates 7 1/2 minutes every half-hour to cover local races. It is NBC News' policy to not project a winner in any state until that state's polls close.
Leading NBC News' "Decision 2004" team of correspondents will be David Gregory and Norah O'Donnell reporting on the Bush campaign, and Kelly O'Donnell and Carl Quintanilla covering the Kerry campaign. Also reporting on behalf of NBC News from the battleground states will be Ron Allen, Tom Costello, Kerry Sanders and John Seigenthaler. Chip Reid will lead NBC News' "Making Your Vote Count" coverage from New York and Natalie Morales will report on the Voter Alert Line from the Constitution Center in Philadelphia.
