:hi:

Something about an insult about Laura's career (or lack of it).

Thanks

1. Once upon a time there was an angry lady in far west Texas
who killed her lover in a car crash. Meanwhile, there was another lady, a nice lady, who was getting a great education overseas and learning about many cultures and new languages. These two ladies met briefly when the nice lady moved into the white house where the angry lady had been kicked out. The nice lady lived happily ever after. Now go to sleep before the angry lady comes driving down your street!

Hey, I had one of those recently.
It happens. We're all on edge, although I don't claim to speak for anyone else here except myself. I think this season, so close to the election, with so much at stake, and so many people so fearful and vulnerable, it's easy to become unspooled. I'm certainly not immune. Neither is my big mouth! Apologies here, too.

12. Here in L.A., it's been raining for days.
"...where the sun don't shine" could be ANYWHERE in So Cal at the moment.

Hugs!

13. No rain for 6 months -- not a drop -- any you bugging about a few
days' rain? Man, I wish I lived in LA.

14. No complaints whatsoever.
We're so rain-starved (literally - drought conditions seem to be never-ending) that everybody's been LOVING the rain. That is, as long as they don't have to drive in it. Went to physical therapy today, and my therapist told me how she spun out on the freeway the other night - scared her half to death. People forget how to drive in the rain out here because it rains so seldom. Accidents always multiply in the rainy season. I happen to love it when it rains. Plus, it clears the air.

4. OK OK/ I just haven't heard anything about it.

I know it is crap, been out of touch, but I know nothing about "it".

5. Here is what she said.
"Well, you know, I don't know Laura Bush. But she seems to be calm, and she has a sparkle in her eye, which is good," Heinz Kerry said. "But I don't know that she's ever had a real job — I mean, since she's been grown up. So her experience and her validation comes from important things, but different things."

It's the "real job" part that made me wince a little, but overall I don't think it's that bad. It's not as over the top as what Lynne Cheney did recently.

6. Thank you
:hi:

Thanks. I haven't seen it or heard it. I've been avoiding the cable and network news. I see why.

9. She apologized saying she forgot Laura used to be a
teacher and a librarian. Of course the apology wasn't good enough for Karen Hughes.

15. They are trying to turn Laura into a martyr.
She has been soooo wronged because being a mother is hard work. She worked harrrrd. She worked a being a mom.
Alright already, give it a rest. We know you are just stalling to avoid the real issues. Mama T is a mom, too, with three kids. She is also a step-mom. Does Laura think Mama T doesn't work hard at raising her family (and she had to do it alone for a while) and also working for the foundation.

11. Considering Laura Bush has hardly worked in her adult life..
THK was pretty close to the truth. Laura Bush has really no career to speak of.. I honestly don't think she worked more than a few years since she met Bush. Teresa pointed out in the first comments, that her things were IMPORTANT, but different. Not really a slap, considering the SHIT Lynne said about John Kerry. Another fucking tempest in a teapot. Ooooh.. people won't vote for Kerry because his wife said Laura Bush didn't have a real job since she grew up... yeah right.

7. A Kerry has apologized! Wow that should make us look good
Have you ever heard a Bush say "I'm sorry" or "I was wrong" about anything? Somethings not normal with people who never apologize about anything in their lives.

17. DROP THIS!
This is a non-story. Ignore it and it will go away.

We are now 12 days away folks. The last time we allowed ourselves to get sucked into a story like this we spent a week talking about Mary Cheney at the expense of Bush's reponses in the debate regarding OBL, jobs, the minimum wage, etc.

Do not let the media make this out to more than it is -- which is a distraction at most.

18. It's almost true
From what I understand, Laura Bush barely completed one year as a school librarian. As soon as she met the chimp, she decided that her "career" was over.
