Should John Kerry tone it down?
Edited on Wed Oct-20-04 06:36 PM by sonicx
At the debate he carelessly mentioned Cheney's lesbian daughter.

While taking about terrorism, he carelessly used words like 'sensitive' 'nuiance' and 'global test'

He needs to watch what he says. He needs to stop giving freepers ammo.
Hell, maybe he should shut up!!

:eyes: :eyes:

especially the two other times you say it. Oh, and thank you for the note at the bottom. I don't think I would have picked up on your meaning otherwise.

4. Kerry is right about everything.
He was right to mention Mary Cheney. She is a "professional" lesbian. This "daughter" is 35 years old.

All three words were the perfect words when used in context.

8. Only if he does not support or back up his words
If he believes in his 'sensitive' 'nuisance' and 'global test' plans then by all means stand by them. If he makes the statement then it should be valid and not backed away from.

11. Well, he probably should
Since he's gone from 11 points behind in the polls (yeah, right) to anywhere from even to four points ahead. What's Kerry trying to do? Win the election or something?

12. In football what Kerry is doing is called playing to win
Which is much better then playing not to lose. Playing to win is usually successful, playing not to lose usually fails

14. Mary Cheney is a lesbian.

I'd rather use words like sensitive and nuanced, than "Shock and Awe".

What if Iraq bombed the shit out of us because we have * as an evil dictator? Would you greet them with flowers? Or be pissed because they killed your wife and 3 kids.

Kerry should take it to them 24/7.

33. Or even worse
We are all God's children. Mary Cheney is as God made her.

Why, that man is just sick! My God, how dare he!

The horror... the horror...

Hell, they'll attack Kerry no matter what he says. It'll get twisted and taken out of context. He might as well do what comes naturally. I personally hope the Bush campaign keeps pissing him off. He's so much fun when he's angry.

19. I don't think so
About Cheney's daughter: Cheney brought it on himself when he talked about his daughter in Aug. Kerry was very nice and considerate about it. The repubs just spin everything to make him look bad. They take things out of context and spread them all over the media. Kerry has no one to defend him because the media is so biased toward the right wing. Kerry is not saying anything wrong. The republicans are LIARS and spin doctors!

20. * can't string two words together without a blunder
and no one says diddly in the media. If JK said the sky is blue, the freepers would be all over him about the sky. Your use of the words " shut up " when referring to JK is misplaced.

23. Are you nuts?
He's going too soft.

"Carelessly" he mentioned Mary Cheney? Nonsense.

"Carelessly" he said "nuanced" and "global test." Bullshit.

More like CAREFULLY the right wing hate/fear mongers picked up the lines and shouted them into their echo chamber. If Kerry had said "Eradicate them" the right would have said "He said be erratic" and the liberal media would give each one of the lying bastards the airtime to repeat it over and over and over again.

NO, Kerry needs to tone down NOTHING. He needs to call Bush a LIAR right to his face, and lay the facts on the table, in these last hours, with little time left to fight it. And he should have legions of talking heads at the ready to repeat it ad nauseum just the way the right wing freaks do.

30. If a person's too careful, he ends up sayin' nothin'. He should just be
himself and speak what he thinks, letting the chips fall where they may (taking due care with the words he chooses, of course, as all politicians should). And may the best liar win! (I heard that quote on TV this week, and it's pretty great.)

35. Disagree...he should keep it up and more...
Rip * a new asshole! I was at the rally in Orlando, and on about 4 occasions, he said "...and you know what the president did?", and I instictively said LIED! I couldn't help it. I didn't say it loud, but the people around me started laughing. But its true, and we all know it. Call it like it is. Those who refuse to see it made up their minds for * long ago, so fuck em. The rest basically don't trust politicians anyways. By SHOWING the lies, by POINTING OUT the lies, by SHOWING the hipocracy, one by one people are saying "Damn, this guy actually wants to tell the truth". I swear, especially when you see him live...you see this glow...you see the young soldier that returned, and out of love for his country and fellow soldiers, stood up and challenged his government for it's mistakes and atrocities, even if it wasnt popular at the time. Over time, he was proven correct, despite what Sinclair may tell its limited audience of already brainwashed viewers. He carries that same desire to tell the truth and be straight with the American people today, and you can see it, and more and more people are seeing it all the time.

37. Kerry and Edwards are the candidates - Teresa is not
I could care less about the big philosophical arguments people will use to defend Teresa. Maybe she's right maybe she's not. I don't care. We simply don't need this stuff in the news now. We need the focus to be squarely on the candidates and our message - not what Teresa has to say about Laura Bush.
