A survey of 1,200 undergraduates across the country finds they favor the Democratic senator from Massachusetts over President Bush 52 percent to 39 percent.
Eighteen- to 25-year-olds are the least likely segment of the population to vote but college students are twice as likely to vote as their peers without higher education.
The Harvard University Institute of Politics survey of 1,202 undergraduates was conducted Oct. 7-13 and found support for Kerry even higher on college campuses in 14 swing states, where he enjoyed a 55 percent to 38 percent advantage over Bush.
