FL Rethug plot uncovered by resourceful DUers
Read these two threads and it is clear that jeb and his rethugs are trying to get the election observers moved away from the polling places.

2. Putting everything together
Many people might remember this lady Elaine Fandino and a story going around about her reporting abuse from Kerry/Edwards people. Well she is a GOP Operative and here is a picture of her

Incase you don't remember the story let me repost it.

Early voting brings cries of bullying

this sounds like another Rovian production to me (i.e. trying to establish a basis for contesting the election results) . . . apparently these people will stop at nothing . . .

Elaine Fandino complained to the Republican Party that she took her mother to vote on South Military Trail in Palm Beach County and was confronted by 25 people supporting John Kerry for president. The crowd was "very angry and used foul language," she reported. She said the man next to her said, "Where's my shotgun?"

In Broward County, at the regional library in Pembroke Pines, a voter complained that Kerry supporters used abusive language about President Bush and had signs and banners within 50 feet of the entrance.

Kerry supporters were "shoving anti-Bush propaganda at us," complained the voter, who said he shouted back "Vote President Bush!"

A woman who voted in Plantation at the West Regional Courthouse said she was offended to see five or six people with "huge stick on badges" for Kerry/Edwards, standing near the voting machines.

Why is this important? This person just happens to be a Operative of the GOP. There were post made not to long ago about a group called STOMP that the GOP uses to send operatives out to grassroot areas. They were mobilizing Freepers and using them in places. I tried to warn you about it because this is a tactic that is being placed right now.

Here are reasons why we believe this lady is a operative of the GOP

http://www.thehollandsentinel.net/stories/..._Campaigns.html

George W. Bush supporter Elaine Fandino, center front, demonstrates with other Cuban Americans in West Palm Beach, Fla., Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000. Palm Beach County election officials awarded three dozen additional votes to Al Gore following a mechanical recount on Saturday and then decided that all 425,000 votes cast last week should be counted by hand. Then there is this article

Republican Lawrence Gottfried

"Lawrence Gottfried is the "other" BVA attorney convicted of obstructing veterans claims."

20. This is what they're up to

Again, the Washington Post article today about voter mobilization efforts pointed out that Dems activists are very open about what their goals and plans are, while the GOP activists are refusing to talk to the press, as instructed by the RNC, about anything. I also noted that the GOP is paying their activists.

Seeing a thread like this explains exactly why they're being secretive. It seems the coordinated plan involves a lot of lying and potentially a "wolf in sheep's clothing" kinda strategy, i.e. dress up Repubs as Dems and then act like Repubs and threaten folks.
--------
27. They quote Tom Feeney, Florida's own Tom DeLay
Who knows, he might be the next "Hammer." Didn't he get to be a US congressman after his role in the 2000 election? Did they research the folks they interviewed at all?

Remember his "loser" remarks in 2000? Oh, yeah, I do.
http://www.sptimes.com/News/121500/State/F...gizes_for.shtml

TALLAHASSEE --SNIP..." House Speaker Tom Feeney says he has learned he'll have to give up "dumb jokes" for the next two years.

Feeney spent much of Thursday apologizing for remarks he made at a private party Wednesday night.

The Orlando Sentinel reported the comments were made at a GOP victory party at Po Boys, a restaurant a couple of blocks from the state Capitol.

"What a loser," Feeney was quoted as saying while he watched Vice President Al Gore's concession speech. Feeney also was quoted as calling it "an evil speech." Feeney admits making comments about the speech, but insists it was all a joke among friends. ..."

The efforts here plan and simple lead to what this person is trying to point out

Orange County Poll Workers Complain About Harassment

http://www.wesh.com/news/3845818/detail.html

POSTED: 9:07 pm EDT October 24, 2004
UPDATED: 9:15 pm EDT October 24, 2004

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Gov. Jeb Bush is advising state elections officials to remove people who intimidate voters at early voting sites.

The move comes after Orange County's elections supervisor complained of harassment at the polls from campaign solicitors, observers and members of the media.

Bush, in a letter sent Sunday to Orange supervisor of elections Bill Cowles, said he was disturbed by the complaints, adding any harassing behavior should not be tolerated under Florida's election laws.

While noting that there are no formal restrictions on soliciting and observers in Florida's early voting provisions, he encouraged the state's 67 Florida election supervisors to preserve order by directing observers, solicitors and press into special locations where they would not interfere with rights of electors.

2. sounds to me like they are setting up "free speech" zones.....

like the ones around george w's appearances........ten miles away hehe
-------------------------

There you have it Jeb Bush is creating the same type of free speech zones that they use at Bush's Rally. The one where dems aren't allowed, but nobody covers it and the loyality oaths are the only way to get in. If you act now you can still stop this from becoming a reality by exposing it for what it really is. Also remember how they step up Parlock.

3. Great job of putting it together
DUers should take your post and send it to groups that are sending observers. If nothing else, the observers need to be trained in how to deal with the rethug operatives and the media.

5. Further evidence of rethug plot in NYT op-ed piece
http://www.nytimes.com/2004/10/25/opinion/25herbert.html?hp

<snip>
At the same time, the Republican Party is doing what it can in key states to block as many Democratic votes as possible. Party officials have mounted a huge organized effort to challenge - some would say intimidate - voters in states like Ohio and Florida, in a bid to offset the effects of huge voter registration drives and a potentially heavy turnout of voters opposed to Mr. Bush and his policies.
Election officials in Ohio said they'd never seen such a large drive mounted to challenge voters on Election Day.
Voter suppression is a reprehensible practice. It's a bullet aimed at the very heart of democracy. But the G.O.P. evidently considers it an essential strategy in an environment with so little positive news.
