Just heard on CNN that the kids have voted for Bush
Weekly Reader poll. :-(

Said it hasn't been wrong since '56! Well, maybe they just don't know how the young people will vote this time around and how grandparents will vote!

He comes home spitting and snarling about the 'news' on Channel One that is shown to kids. Utter RW propaganda.

3. Nickleodeon Poll picked Kerry
and they've been right since the 80's. I just take this as another example about how all the polls and indicators are all over the map. This campaign is gonna go right down to the wire.

9. Let's all send CNN this link regarding JK winning the Nickelodeon vote!
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story2&u=/ap/20041020/ap_en_tv/nickelodeon_president

NEW YORK - Kid power! Democrat John Kerry (news - web sites) is the winner, and the rest of the country should pay attention because the vote on Nickelodeon's Web site has correctly chosen the president of the United States in the past four elections.

Kids Pick the President (Nickelodeon)

Nearly 400,000 children and teens voted, and the results were released Wednesday. Kerry received 57 percent of the vote; President Bush (news - web sites) got 43 percent.

Nickelodeon has been airing information on the Nov. 2 election, plus sponsoring debates where kids could put forth their views on the environment, the war in Iraq (news - web sites) and terrorism. Some animated shows on the cable channel also have been focusing on the election.

Linda Ellerbee, who writes and hosts "Nick News," says their voting usually reflects their parents' views — but not all the time.

7. My guess is that fundies don't let their kids watch nick
The theory is that kids vote the way they hear their parents talk. I think kids vote by the sound bites they hear on tv

10. I get much of mine also from here and enjoy
all the posts tremendously. And I share what I learn from here with many of my email pals. One of my friends in FL wondered where I got all of the articles that I send to her. I've told her. She's a diehard DEM, too!

I'm swearing off CNN as soon as our guy gets elected a week from tomorrow.

8. Parents have to buy Weekly Reader.
In many schools, Weekly Reader subscriptions are purchased using student fees.

In others, parents buy individual subscriptions for their children.

Imagine the demographic breakdown of subscriber families: Weekly Reader hasn't changed one iota since the glory days of Dick and Jane.

What a crock!

12. They were wrong in '92
Link: The only glitch was in 1992. Older students—grade 4 and above—chose Clinton over Bush, 50% to 42%. However younger students chose Bush over Clinton, 64% to 33%. This was the result, perhaps of younger students' greater familiarity with the incumbent President than with this relatively unknown rival, the Governor of Arkansas. The adult vote was Clinton 53% and Bush 47%.

May it be '92 all over again!:P

16. An incumbent election with a Bush in the White House.
Coincidence? I doubt it.

This actually does concern me slightly, because it means one of two things: Either Dem parents are teaching their kids what American stands for, or Repukes are out-procreating us by a lot.

13. And how many close elections have there been since 56?
60, 80, 00? Isn't that it? SO in the three that could be considered close, they got probably two right. I bet the kids picked Bush but remember he didn't win. Reagan was also pulling away in 80. So the fact is meaningless.

17. Bush is just getting the sympathy vote.
This happened to me with Reagan when there was talk of impeachment years ago. I felt sorry for him. I was wrong. I was very wrong. We should have gone for the throat back then. We should have, and people like me, should have been more supportive. If I only knew back then, what I know now.

Yeah, and they said on FOX last week that NO TEAM HAS EVER COME BACK FROM 3-0 IN BASEBALL.

Never happens, right?

I'm sick of Tea Leaf Reading, especially Rethug Tea Leaves...
