Memphis is going to carry Tennessee
Early voting at all 19 stations across the county started Oct. 16 and ends Thursday.
The vote totals so far look good for Republicans and even better for Democrats.

Traditionally Republican polling locations are pulling many more voters than in 2000.

Through six days: St. George's Episcopal Church is up 8 percent, from 4,250 in 2000 to 4,594 this year; Agricenter International is up 23 percent, from 4,706 to 5,777; and Collierville is up 77 percent, from 2,937 in 2000 at a community center to 5,224 this year at Collierville Church of Christ.

Traditionally Democratic stations are experiencing even higher increases.

Bishop Byrne is up 139 percent, from 1,838 the first six days in 2000 to 4,393 so far this year. Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church in Midtown is up 113 percent, from 1,833 to 3,912. And Ed Rice Community Center in Frayser is up 150 percent, from 1,018 to 2,550.

2. Nashville is definitely going to be right there....
with you all. I know for a fact that Davidson county (Nashville) will go with Kerry. I HOPE there is a lot of turn out across the entire state. If the big cities can turn out the vote, TN will go with Kerry. I am hoping Knoxville will have a lot of turn out for Kerry. If east TN does well, we have it.

11. wonderful!
I think TN will definitely depend on how many dems get to the polls, especially in the eastern parts of the state.

4. I'm hoping that the east can hold things fairly even so that the middle
and western parts of the state can turn this state blue!!!

Last week we were traveling thru Knox and we were surprised at the billboard, stickers and signs that we saw. Spouse is going thru Knox this morning and he just called to tell me that there is a tremendous difference today. More billboards, stickers, signs, as he put it, "It's like a sea of Kerry/Edwards". He's stunned and very pleased. I was surprised to see the number of K/E signs and Wolfe (running against Wamp) signs that we saw in and around Meigs Co. Friday.

Clinging to hope here.

6. I just don't see it. But maybe TN or Arkansas will be
the surprise this election - there usually is one.

be close if Kerry doesn't carry the state. Bush won't win here in a landslide by any means. Too many people I know who voted for him in 2000 are NOT voting for him in this election. I hear the same sentiments from everywhere across the state.

10. Going blue is very possible
Seeing all the signs and hearing most people I've ran across voting for Kerry/Edwards I am very hopeful. Just a few minutes ago News Channel 11 did a bit on the huge amount of new voters. They said half a million has already voted early.

I think going blue is a real possibility in this state and I live in the northeastern part of the state which is considered a repub stronghold.

Whether this state goes blue or not, all indicators tell me that * is in real trouble :)
