My LTTE gets published
Unfortunately this paper endorsed Bush, not exactly enthusiastically though.

Kerry has always fought terrorism
Despite the right wing's endless attacks, the truth is on John Kerry's side. They like to reference votes Kerry made to cut certain weapons programs, but this was a vote against an entire bill. Also, then-Secretary of Defense Dick Cheney proposed cutting all of these same weapons. If by these criteria Kerry is weak on defense, Cheney must be as well.

The right wing would have us believe Kerry is weak on terrorism. This is completely ridiculous, considering his extensive work in shutting down the Bank of Credit and Commerce International. This was one bank that laundered drug money to Manuel Noriega, and served as a banker for a couple of people the public may be familiar with -- Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden.

Also, the financial network bin Laden uses today is very similar to the one he used with that bank. Kerry came under intense pressure from the Reagan and Bush administrations, and even some Democrats, to end his investigation. Ironically, the current president received a $25 million loan from the bank for one of his oil companies.

Kerry also helped uncover the Iran-Contra scandal and expose Noriega and Oliver North. The Reagan administration and Senate Republicans did all they could to stop Kerry's investigations and the conservative media dismissed them, but Kerry wouldn't let up. So, if you want a president who will truly fight terrorism, vote for Kerry.

Fortunately this was published amid a plethora of crazy right wing letters, of which this paper seems to publish many of.

3. Great job! Bravo!
:toast:

LTTE are very helpful. They embolden others to speak out too. They help to shout down the hate radio and corporate media bombardments.

That is really disturbing.

7. A+ Letter. If I Lived within their "distribution area," I would have sent
them this LTE:

Intelligence and morality must be equal partners in public policy, otherwise we are doomed to tragic misadventures. Sadly, the Bush Administration has no demonstrable "learning curve," and by word and deed the "Politics of Darkness" prevails.

Thousands of Americans, including young children, will perish because corporate greed and political apathy have deprived millions of needed flu vaccines. It truly is a national disgrace that could potentially kill as many Americans this winter as died during the Vietnam War.

Few drug companies invest in vaccine production because of the comparatively low profit margins. One US drug company outsourcing to England contaminated millions of vials and were shut down by the Brits. The problem is corporate greed and political pandering, not lawyers and lawsuits.

"FluGate" is a valid political issue and the poster child for Bush’’s failed leadership and corporate pandering. This crisis was predictable and totally preventable if Bush had been interested in protecting the safety of the American people. The shipment of 2.6 million doses of flu vaccine in January is too little, too late. American needs at least 40 million doses right now.

The Bush Myth Machine always refuses to admit error or responsibility as it belches smoke in a charade of Christian and family values. But the American people know Bush has been dishonest on a litany of issues such as Iraq, jobs, health care, the flu vaccine crisis, the economy, his military service, the war on terror, and the "bulge" under his coat.

Whether Americans will continue to swallow these Washington “bird droppings” is unclear. What is clear is that Bush was "asleep at the switch" on 9/11; he didn't protect us then and he's definitely not protecting us now. His administration will be infamous for Big Deficits, Big Business, Big Divisions, Big Government, a Big Vietnam in Iraq, a Big Mess at home, and burgeoning funeral home businesses. The real "wolves" are already in the White House.
