I just finished watch 'Rumsfeld's War' on Frontline.
You must see this edition of Frontline. It pretty much destroys the neocons and Rumsfeld. Amazing report.

1. It started slow.
And built a fairly positive image of Rumsfeld. Then it brought down the hammer.

2. Yeah,
I kept thinking WTF, and then they very methodically destroyed him. I'm really quite impressed.

8. I Have To Disagree. It Was A Very Well Done Piece On The Power
brokers and military philosophies that have brought us to our current sorry state. The 'slow' beginning provided beneficial background information on military doctrine prior to the Boosh administration and biographies of the power players.

Rumsfeld is a very smart guy. Unfortunately, being smart is not the only prerequisite of a successful leader, as we have learned.

12. You're not disagreeing, the background was
fascinating, but a little slow. I thought the first part was an excellent expose of the neocons and their agenda, and then it got moving and as I've said before destroyed them.

16. For Me, The Two Most Important Parts Were:
1) The vote by the 'war cabinet' to invade Afghanistan before Iraq. Is this the action of a 'resolute' leader? Taking a vote?

2) The fact that planning was well underway by late 2001 and the invasion was inevitable. Remember all the denials in the summer of 2002 that there were no plans to invade Iraq.

5. Great footage at the end
of Rumsfeld getting angry at having to answer questions about Abu Ghraib. He was practically yelling at McCain while testifying.

6. Usurper deluxe
This guy makes it seem as though Eric Cartman is running the Pentagon. His platform is "you will respect my authoratay!!!". Rumsfeld came about to an interesting idea on warfare: lighter troop forces, quick movement, instant reaction and force before the enemy can react. I wonder though, did he somehow come up with this on his own, or did he dig up and old text from the Third Reich somewhere. After all, there hadn't been a blitzkrieg tactic like Shock and Awe since the day that Germany invaded Poland in WWII. This guy gets the idea of taking territory, but fails to grasp the fundamentals of occupation and holding territory. The Nazi forces in France encountered the same problems we are seeing in Iraq and what the U.S. saw in Vietnam. Frontline needs to stick it to these people.

another very good comparison. That our forces are pretty much seeing that same thing the Russians saw in Afghanistan. Those who ignore history are doomed to failure.

may go belly up like a drunken Vegas rounder.

9. Powerful representation. He's part of the fundamental repub coup.
Vote them out and keep them out of power. They could care less for us. They want their power, and, power, and power, and yeah, their power. They will lie to us over and over to get it. I'm not here to give away my freedoms.
I'm not here to make them richer.I'm not here to see the people around me get hurt by their policies.I want a better America . We will all defend that. If we are given the problem we can solve it. We can govern ourselves, but our elected officials have to be smart enough and honest enough to give us the truth.
Wait a minute,Bush, I didn't vote for you be Emperor.
Honestly I don't think you are basically evil, just selling used cars would be a better profession for you.

10. This was an eye opener.
And a bit unsettling from the view of the people who where there. This is the smoking gun for the phrase "My way are the highway". Rummy was able to effectively alienate anyone who didn't go along with his long planed for war with Iraq. This is a arm chair warrior gone mad with power. Those in the Pentagon and armed forces with actually on the ground war experience where who voiced opposing views where labeled alarmist and soon found themselves out of a job.

15. It was great
Another Frontline takedown on the misadministration.

On a side note, keep PBS on for Charlie Rose tonight -- Ken Mehlman has a near-meltdown. You can smell the fear coming through your TV.

19. shows me a lot
showed me

1. bush is an incredibly weak leader

2. neocons are so evil because not only are they in a grab
for oil...they are stupid about it

I mean I have no military training whatsoever but I could see easily
the stupidity of evading Iraq and the need for massive force.

How could they poop on their military experts like that...
they had no clue, no real background, expertise...

just unbelievable!
