NY Times interviews commander of troops from NBC story

A few days earlier, some soldiers from the division thought they had discovered a cache of chemical weapons that turned out to be pesticides. Several of them came down with rashes, and they had to go through a decontamination procedure. Colonel Anderson said he wanted to avoid a repeat of those problems, and because he had already seen stockpiles of weapons in two dozen places, did not care to poke through the stores at Al Qaqaa.

"I had given instructions, 'Don't mess around with those. It looks like they are bunkers; we're not messing around with those things. That's not what were here for,' " he said.

2. Root problem was that the Bush Admin didn't prioritize it properly.
Can't blame the military for following their orders. Bush and his military chiefs priorited protection of the oil resources over securing weapons sites.

4. Ha! What they really mean is...
Mr. Bush did not want to comment on the matter until the facts were known.

What they *really* mean is that they can't formulate Bush's official comment on the issue until they've found out everything that's known -- in order to create a lie that might carry them for a few days, through the election.

5. Even as we speak the media whores are trying to discredit NYT
and Kerry; Even usually neutral Lou Dobbs tonight said he thought it was politically motivated, and his Question of the day:

If it was i day prior to the election, should the explosives story been reported on?

77% yes 23% no

He also said it wasn't that great a story!!! Our troops were killed because of this major blunder... and Iraqis civilians.

6. Will the people pay attention what the guy was saying...
that they didn't have proper equipment to protect them from chemical weapon. Those rashes didn't just happen before they didn't change their underwear frequently enough.

bush sucks
