this "emotional speech" coming
has anyone in the Kerry camp gotten anyone prepped for it? why are they publicizing that he is going to be emotional? and isn't this a sign of some desperation?

2. Are you talking about Bush's speech Friday?
I wonder if he's going to cry like Jimmy Swaggart after getting caught with that hooker?

3. yeah the "emotional" plea
that is coming...I think it would be beneficial for Kerry or someone to call him on it..before to kind of thwart anyone who might be swayed...will this EVEN work???

4. Sure, they're gonna turn up the electronic shock device
that he wears on his back. Turn it up to 11. Then, like a hunting dog, he will jump back into place, and weep like a baby.

19. I see that every morning on the Today show.
Bush invokes 9/11 and Today inserts footage of the smoking rubble of the WTC. So what's new about it?

6. I remember when Reagan beat Carter in
1980. Carter saw it coming in the last days. He went on TV and practically cried, begging for another chance. It was pathetic. I think if Bush pulls something like that it will backfire just like it did on Carter.

10. actually it was on the day of the election
and Carter had just arrived in Plains to vote, and he was surrounded by family and friends, and yes, he had been given the final bad poll numbers, up to that final weekend, he thought he was going to win--and as he was speaking in his home town he did choke up when he said, "I hope I didn't let you down". It was not pathetic.

8. I think he will cry . . .
Like he was close to doing at this "Mission Accomplished" speech & also at the repub convention. Hasn't anyone told him, "THERE'S NO CRYING IN POLITICS!"

Go back to the ranch, you little sissy.

13. "There's no crying in politics"
I'm grinning over that sentiment...but actually, there is crying in politics. The problem is that you get into trouble if you do the wrong type of crying. Open blubbering is not permitted, but you can let those tears glisten in your eyes as you talk about the sacrifices of brave soldiers, etc. Haynes Johnson claims Reagan teared up on cue, more or less, when telling the same apocryphal story again and again to supporters.

11. Love the advance planning on emotion
I guess that is necessary when you're dealing with non-humans or no-long-living humans.

Puppets and the undead have to plan to cry don't they? It's not a spontaneous thing.

Geesh.
