2. I go tomorrow for hour instruction for 4 hr. poll watching 11/2
and I live in Utah where GOP rules so I certainly hope battleground states have us there too. I don't trust them here, so I sure wouldn't trust them where it is going to be close.

3. Make sure no harassment ...
is taking place ! Make people aware of their rights when it comes to voting ,what I.D. they must show if asked and make sure the person asking for the I.D has the right to do so ! I must admit even I do not know all of the requirments .I will have my voter registration card ,my drivers lic., however could the lack of having your birth certificate or social security card available cause any problem when going to vote ?

7. All you need is your voter reg. card or if you don't have it,
state-issued ID. And this number: 1-866-OUR-VOTE.

4. Go to www.election-protection.org and volunteer...
They can't pay you $100, but they can help you get a real president, not a Sears president.

24.

8. Don't you mean Wal-Mart? Sears still has good appliances
and Craftsmen tools. Wal-Mart has, well, give me time, I'll think of something. Maybe.

10. Which ward?
I vote at 13-N (Tremont Elementary School). I can't get off work to poll-watch, so it's good to know a fellow DU-er will be keeping tabs somewhere around here!

11. Techies, especially computer security literate
Consider verifiedvoting.org. Looking for people to keep an eye on the touch screen precincts. Its the rare "traditional" pollwatcher that knows that a company rep plugging a laptop into the network with the screens is possibly not a good thing...

I get my training today. However, since touch screens are rare here, (we are pretty much optical scan, or manual count) I may yet wind up GOTV driver in NH, the nearest battleground state.

12. We have huge numbers of checker/challengers
Our goal: to ensure that every qualified voter has the opportunity to vote and have their vote counted.

We will have two functions
1 Watch for misbehavior from the Rs. Alert the election officials if misbehavior occurs, call our legal team if the misbehavior is not corrected.

2 Watch the poll book, keep track of the number of voters, make reports to our HQ so they can phone bank or canvass low turnout precincts.

3 Try to conserve our strength so we can stay at the VICTORY PARTY all night
