Is the Big Dog going to Arkansas for Kerry?
What does Kerry have planned for Clinton? Where does Kerry think Clinton's presence would do the most good?

IMHO while Kerry is in Florida this weekend, the Big Dog should be working on Arkansas and PA and OH.

5. No. It's a slam dunk when the Dems nominate a popular former AR governor
Edited on Wed Oct-27-04 12:38 PM by dolstein
Just because Arkansas handed its electoral votes to Bill Clinton twice is no reason to assume that any candidate the Democrats nominate will carry the state. Bill Clinton was elected governor of the state several times. He was born in Arkansas. He grew up there. Arkansas voters knew him well, and weren't going to be influenced by the traditional Republican strategy of branding the Democratic nominee as a liberal elitist. With all due respect, John Kerry is no Bill Clinton. Is it possible for Kerry to carry the state? Some polls indicate yes. But it is by no means a slam dunk, nor should it every have been perceived as such.

6. I agree
No southern state was ever going to be close to a slam dunk for Kerry, even when he chose Edwards.

8. As in the past, the Philadelphia area will carry the state
Bush may win the KKK middle ("Pennsyvania is Pittsburgh and Philadelphia with Alabama in the middle" - J.Carville) and Pittsburgh may be a toss-up, but he is going to carry the 5th largest city in the nation.

From Philadelphia, where the fire commissioner estimated the crowd topped 80,000 -- by far the largest for the campaign -- Clinton headed to Florida for solo events Monday and today, with Nevada and New Mexico on the itinerary at the end of the week if his health holds.

On the way home to New York on Sunday, Clinton plans to stop in his native Arkansas, a state Bush won by more than five percentage points in 2000 and where a new poll shows the contest suddenly close.
