Debunking Drudge's Terra Tape

Anyway, let's do some common sense debunking here.

1) Drudge says ABC is biased and "held the tape". The inference here is that ABC didn't want the tape released because it would help re-elect Bush. WRONG. The MSNBC story shows that someone from ABC got the tape on Saturday or Sunday in PAKISTAN and then gave it to the CIA on Monday. ABC did not hold the tape, they just had to bring it to D.C. from Pakistan. Drudge=Moron.

Now, let's debunk the threat of the tape itself.
1) All legit terror tapes are given from the terrorists to Al Jazeera. Not American media.
2) Al Queda uses this tapes to fire up their base and declare jihad on Americans. They do not use tapes to WARN Americans. That would defeat the purpose, wouldn't it?
3) CIA can not confirm whether tape is old or new (from MSNBC story).
4) Man on tape is American. Could be Pearlman, but if it's really Pearlman why would he bother hiding his face?

Anyhoo... MSNBC spinning it as possibly legit, but still a low level threat.

In other words, go on with your day. Everything's fine. Drudge is a liar. ABC didn't hold the tape. Fuck off Drudge. :)

As I pointed out over here, this smells like a pathetically flimsy ruse.

aside from he himself is that people actually leak things to him. The moonie times and rw outlets i expect, but who at ABC would leak to a dirtbag like Drudge?

I would think if there was a leak, the leaker would have talked to a major news outlet first.

He uses what sound like RW talking points word for word. It appears on the eve of the election and closely mirrors Cheney's "nuclear 9-11" scare scenario. I hope ABC really does work overtime to authenticate and I also hope they go back to their original source for supporting information.

Drudge throws any old rumor that flys past his semen-seeking head up on his simple little webpage.

so anyone who tries to actually practice responsible journalism and authenticate the tape before airing it is "holding it back"


Drudge is a self-hating closeted homosexual who practices gay-baiting and appeals to homophobia (see his kerry-edwards hugging pages) to advance his masters agenda (repubs). what more do you need to know about him?
