3. Wall Street Journal has a better one
and it also shows you every election since 1980.

www.opinionjournal.com

Its a right-wing site, but click on the "Electoral Calculator" on the left.

5. I was as pessimistic as possible: KE 270; BC 268
That was losing both Ohio and Florida.

7. Try this out
I like this EC calculator best of the ones I've seen:
http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/election-test-fl,0,1851284.flash

My prediction:
Kerry: 290
Bush: 248

8. The LA Times site is better:
http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-polldatapage,1,1906511.htmlstory

I got it 280-258 (giving * FL and WI, but Kerry taking AR, MN, and IA).

And it has added a Senate poll tracker also.

I say 51-49 Dems, winning CO, AK, SD, OK and any three of these four: KY, FL, NC, and LA.

18. Don't forget Colorado
Colorado has a ballot measure that would change how electoral votes are decided. Could switch to a proportional system instead of winner take all.

20. More than anything else
if this referendum passes, and the electoral count close, this will be litigated.

I gave CO (and all 9 EV) to * in my scenario.

23. 354-184
And I gave some states back to Bush after originally picking Kerry

I seriously think NC, VA, and TN will go Kerry. I'm not too sure about WI. We'll get MN, PA, OH, and probably FL if there's enough of a landslide

24. Best I can come up with for Kerry is about 285
And that's being generous.

We can't assume he's going to win both Florida and Ohio (we can't even be sure he'll win either). We can't assume he'll win Michigan and New Mexico and Wisconsin and Minnesota and New Hampshire. (Of course, we can't assume Bush will win any of them, either.)

We have to be realistic. It's going to be a real nailbiter Tuesday night.

but I will admit it does boost my hopes. especially when you play around with the states that voted for poppy in 1988 but went clinton in 92.
