Running 7 percentage points ahead of 2000 returned/out ratio. Especially impressive given the massive increases in registration.

In Lane County, 90,657 ballots were returned through Tuesday, representing 42.9 percent of all registered voters in the county, elections director Annette Newingham said.

4. Repug friends...
got really freakin pissed when I told them that 70% of the returned ballots in Iowa were registered Dems. "You don't know that, no way, it can't be right" etc etc etc. Yep 199,973 70% Dem. eat it boys! Kerry in a landslide!

5. You might want to re-word that thread title
at first blush I thought you were saying that they were mailing back our ballots at a 38% rate!! Not everyone knows that we are 99% mail-in ballots here. - K
