New * ad-Bush brings emotionally devastated people back to
mental health?

The ad talks of a young woman who was, understandably, very emotionally devastated by her mother's death in the WTC attacks.

And Bush brought her back to emotional equilibrium by hugging her?!!

WTF?!

Is this the counter to the Dem ad with the woman whose husband died in the attacks and is supporting Kerry/Edwards?

I think this is the most disgusting ad I have ever seen, taking advantage of a young woman and implying that Bush, like Jesus, has the power to heal the sick.

They are going even nuttier than they were before.

6. I think the worst thing is
that Bush and a number of people believe that he is a holy man doing the work of the Lord. They suffer from a shared psychosis.

7. And he didn't even have to go out of his way
to do it! The ad says that the girl happened to be at a rally and got a hug from the messiah when he was on his way out of the room. He didn't phone her or write to her...didn't befriend her...barely broke his stride...but it was enough...enough to turn her brown eyes blue...to light up her life...oh, never mind. It's too sappy for words.

the only thing missing was a shot of him walking across a lake to get to Air Force One.

8. Well, they froze-framed on his messianic face
and he looked like the antichrist.

I think they are truly losing it from this ad. It's over. They're toast.

14. Is that the girl who lost her mother in WTC?
The dad is a MARKETING consultant, and BIG Republican. The ad, if it's the one I'm thinking about.. it funded by a 527 who scored MILLIONS of dollars from a few Republican contrbutors: Amway, Ameriquest Mortgage, Alex Spanos Construction, etc. Seems Dad has started some sort of foundation in the deceased wife's honor.. and they are linked to that ad.

20. Yes, as far as the girl losing her mother in the WTC attacks.
Any anyone who would let their child, healed by Bush or not, he used in such an awful way is a sicko bastard imho.

16. yup, it's the appeal to magic

aka The King's Touch.

You'd understand it if you were a medieval European peasant. You'd understand it if you are a Republican.
Of course, being a Republican voter these days is about being or becoming a medieval European peasant.

31. You nailed it, Lexingtonian
(no crucifixion pun intended, of course)

The booshies really do want to go back to the 50s -- the 1350s. With a complaisant peasantry to do the bidding of a theocratic nobility, no middle class, no education, extremely limited access to social services such as medical care.

26. I really hate that ad...
...they've been showing it here in Pa for at least the last few days. Its just so disgusting that they act like Bush has some special power to heal people.I feel bad for anyone that lost someone on 9/11 but using that to suit GW's reelection bid sickens me.They are trying so hard to cloud this election, they just want to keep saying "don't think of anything but 9/11!Don't worry about jobs, health care, the environment just think 9/11,9/11,9/11!!!".
