has totally spun this into an alternate universe where Bush is the wronged and the explosives issue is hurting Kerry.
I just watched Brit Hume's show and I feel like either they or I am insane. I'm betting it's them.

18. No shit. I watched "Special Report" today and good lord, is it any wonder
the inbred freeper repukes are in fantasyland? Shit, that Hume-Bremer mutual masturbatory interview was a fucking joke. Jerry kept using plausibly deniable ambiguous answers like "that's what read" t0 questions about whether the explosives were missing before the troops arrived. Then the panel goes into total chimpy spin mode. Every one of the four concocted the reality that this is hurting Kerry to make such wild accusations. What a crock!

5. ::she repeats herself::: WATCH Talking Points

I too watched a bit of Fox (to see a friend being thrown to the wolves -- except he wasn't)....

CNN reported that the Pentagon says that the explosives MAY have been gone -- that is NOTHING NEW -- and their (Pentagon's) claim that the weapons could not have been moved after the first group of soldiers went thru was immediately debunked by David Kay.

i repeat

if you're interested in this story -- watch www.talkingpointsmemo.com. He has a better grip on the entire story than anyone else - media included - in the world.

14. I don't get how it's so different from all his other crimes
Such as letting the nuclear material get looted.

Such as going to war in the first place.

Such as lying to congress, lying to the UN, lying to the people.

This one just happens to be a couple days from the election.

I'll take it, whatEVER. Finally the media's reporting something.

Either there was some resolution that almost fit, or there was mass graves, or it was the CIA's fault or whatever. This time is appears to be a clean case of total incompetence, and very importantly, it has grave consequences for the troops. This one ought to do it.

7. NBC, the highest rated newscast, was pretty fair
I didn't see any drudge/rnc spin leaking into it. They made it clear that Bush was doing damage control.

10. CBS News had rather hilarious coverage, but not a lot about the explosives
They showed Bush out there stumping for Democratic votes and then they showed Kerry talking about the jobs and the economy. The coverage of the Al Qaqaa issue was basically a "don't jump to conclusions" sound bite from Bush countered by a sound bite from Kerry. It was far from the best reporting that could have been done on the issue, but it wasn't spin crazy.

11. One funny bit on CBS was..
Bush using Zell to get democratic votes. The huge flaw to this is only repugs are invited to the rallies.

17. ABC News was quite damning I thought about explosives situation
They covered the story quite thoroughly. Left impression that the missing explosives are a serious problem and were not sufficiently secured, although Martha Radditz reported that there are contradictory reports making some of the details are unclear regarding exactly how many dangerous explosives were there and exactly when they were looted. ABC was definitely not spinning the story in Bush's advantage.
