1. Did you read Al Franken's "Why not me"?
In this book Franken writes about his fictional candidacy for the presidency in 2000. Franken runs away with the nomination aftre playing extremely dirty tricks on Al Gore. In this book the Republicans split 4 ways evenly in Iowa (I think it was Buchannon, Quayle, Gramm, Forbes), but anyway the point was that this conflict enabled franken to get into office.

A 4 way tie in Iowa would be bad news.

3. Sorry,I admit I haven't, and I told Al that in L.A. last Spring....
However, the "fast forward" "Hurry-Up and Settle behind 1 Guy" scenario...just doesn't appeal to me...you don't know a candidate until you watch him sweat a little.

That's my take...:hangover:

4. There should be competition
but hopefully whoever wins will do it quickly. I would hope that a candidate whose only possible way to win would be a long brutal fight would consider the ramifications of that fight and drop out.

2. It will be delightful for Republicans
...because it will signal the beginning of a Democratic bloodbath that might last all the way to the convention.
