summary of statewide polls
I can't paste the results in here, but KOS <http://www.dailykos.com/story/2004/1/16/183616/959> shows how candidates are doing statewide.

It isn't clear how recent some of the polls are, but for folks who are hyperventalating (like me) about IA and NH, this provides a nice perspective.

1. Living in the past?
or perhaps you missed this note at the bottom of the listing of states:

"Key:

The poll information is very old"

5. how to read the polls
There are three different type faces when you look at the polls.

The light type face means the polls are old, the underlined means the polls contradict each other or there is a tie, the bold face means it is a recent poll.

Just to clarify.

7. Reading the key caerfully
The "very old" polls are in italics, as the key indicates.

6. it would be great
It would be great if somebody had a link to something like this, showing the state polls from the first time Clinton ran. I wonder how he looked going into Iowa?

While the current summary looks good for Dean, it is still just a poll of what happened in the past, and can change in not much time at all.
