2. Well looking
at how many DLC folks have endorsed Gov Dean versus how many RNC endorsers he has, I'd say the answer if pretty obvious.

3. I think the DLC likes him and so they helped him define himself as a
liberal by attacking him when he needed to get some bona fides last summer.

And I vaguely remember seeing the program posted here from a DLC event after the brouhaha where Dean was a featured speaker.

I think the RNC probably likes him too because, if he wins, he pulls the democrats to the right on corporate welfare, balanced budgets at all costs, taxes, doing little for race, etc. But also because they think he can be defeated.

6. Most of the hate I have seen lately comes from the DLC
And supporters of their candidate, Gen. Clark.

7. Don't forget their other candidate Kerry
I know you like the guy Ed, but some of the Kerry diehards here put the Clark camp to shame in their hateful Deanophobia.

13. Some DLC is pro-Lieberman. of course...
But many of the General's behind the scenes, ex-Clinton operatives have ties to the DLC,a s we all know.

8. The more I read, it looks like its a select few in the DLC
that are holding the organization hostage and dominating the tone of the organization.

I get there are a good crew of people in the DLC, but they arent strong enough to kick the others out, or to tell them to pipe down. In fact they may not want to.

RNC/DLC? I dont know. Id go with RNC.

9. Dean has been giving most RNC members monumental joy for months
so if you mean most members of the RNC versus most members of the DLC, then the DLC probably has a worse feeling about Dean

10. I have a strong dislike for Dean
I see his supporters as mostly young well-to-do kids who don't have much to lose if * wins another term.

I don't see much manufacturing union people supporting Dean. THEY'RE actually the ones with something to lose.

14. The right wing of both parties.
Dean, or more realistically his supporters, pose a threat to the established power structure in both parties.

The Democrats are terrified of losing their control to the people who are rebelling against the party bosses habit of annointing "safe" candidates and moving the party to the right. Thus the support for Kerry, Lieberman, Gephardt and Edwards by the right, a payoff for their conscienceless vote for the IWR.

The repuglycans are frightened of any movement that may pose a threat to the capitalist control of society and make them cough up some dough.
